I don't know whats its like in the rest of the world, but music here in the UK sucks. I like Rock, Korn, Limp Bizkit, Rage etc. But there is none of it. All they have over here is that shit boy band crap, most of them americans, a few sad little bitches go mental over them and there you have it. Then we've got girl bands, these are even worse, these TEEN POP people come from america the go to the top of the charts, lets face it the only thing they are good for is fucking!! Then we have this shit music, DANCE it sucks, there are so many different kinds, but they are all gay. I kinda wish i was in america since i think you have a lot better music or in aus, since korn are big over there. The nearest thing we have had to rock is limp bizkit with the MI 2 sound track, for fucks sake, it really fucks me off!!

I don't listen to U.S. radio anymore because they just play the same 15 songs over and over. In the U.S., MTV stopped showing videos a long time ago. Now it's just nothing but reruns of "Spring Break" and the "Real World vs. Road Rash."

I know how you feel. The closest thing to rock in the charts is Travis for fuck's sake. Americans think they have it bad with Britney Spears and Backstreet Boys, they've never heard of Steps, S-Club 7 or Westlife. Next to that, dance has got to be the most annoying shit on the planet. What's really depressing about it is that it has the potential to be good but the DJs are just dumb fucks who copy each other because they've no imagination and don't know the first thing about music. If you listen to any dance music programme on the radio, you'll notice every track they play has the same beat. No intelligent dance bands like Orbital or Underworld get into the charts. "Metal" is a bad word. Whenever an American mainstream rock band like Red Hot Chili Peppers or Smashing Pumpkins get into the charts, the radio acts like its the hardest, heaviest, most alternative music in the world. The really depressing thing is that where I go to school, out of a class of 30, 4 people (inc. me)like rock. Everyone else listens to dance shit and dresses and looks like the Backstreet Boys, coz they think it'll help them get laid (only if they're paedophiles).

I like UK's old music...It seems to be all i listen to. Rolling Stones, The Who, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, and Eric Burdon and the Animals...But nowadays i can't stand any bit of the tunes from that land. Oasis has gotta go, or at least keep them bottled up in the UK and away from the US

That's a good point clown. Hard Rock and Metal wouldn't be anywhere if anywhere if it wasn't for the likes of Zeppelin, Sabbath and Deep Purple, all English. But now hard rock, from the US or the UK, doesn't get a look in. first off id like to say that SPAZ is a name i use quite often as a handle...but anyhoo, MTV SUX ASS i dont even bother listening to the radio anymore except for this one station which is completely impossible to catch unless there is amazing weather..other than that all I can say is that POP HAS TAKEN OVER and what the world needs is a musical revolution...

I feel you spaz. I live in Cyprus and things are bad here too. People listen to fucking untalented boy/girl groups like Backstreet Boys, Five, A1, Boyzone, S Club 7, Westlife and so on... I'm sure there are THOUSANDS of other boy/girl groups that never made it into the charts. People here want to imitate them so they listen to their useless, same-beat-all-the-time music AND I SIMPLY HATE THAT. To make things worse, they dress up like them and they look real gay. Those untalented "singers" are PLAIN WANNABES. In some of their songs they rap. HEY! Give us a break! If this is what's rap's about then why we need rappers? Dance music does not suck first off... What boy bands/teeny pop people have turned it into does. Do you listen to trance, hard house or jungle. Those styles are awesome, go to a rave and then tell me dance music sucks. As for Korn and Limp Bizkit they're all right but when everyone struts around acting all hard ass 'cuz they listen to that music it makes me want to laugh. Since when does listening to music make you cool, or tough? Look for talent, and what you like not whats popular in music. And if you happen to like teeny pop then I pity you but that's your personal problem. I choose to ignore musical trends I don't like in the hopes they'll go away. american music sucks ass lately, i'm sick of the 'new' rock bands;i.e. korn; limp bizcit; snot; etc..; etc; they are all the same when did not being able to hold a note without screaming become the main thing, and rappers who can't even write one original note in their 'music'(if you can call it that).

mtv seems to shape our culture; sad to say; by pushing on us the music listened to by 12-16 year olds and saying it is the biggest thing in the world. it is the biggest thing in the world to teenagers going through their rebellious phase. but i guess what i listened to in my rebellious phase was the popular music of the time, nirvana, metallica(black album and before); guns-n-roses; u2; rem; the cure now all these bands are respected though my respect for some of them has dwindled(metallica, guns-n-roses) in a few years when the 5-11 year olds are the 12-17 year olds the music scene will again have changed to something seemingly more radical.

Music in the US really sucks. everything on the radio and mtv is awful. But luckly i don�t live in the state anymore! and here in Costa Rica they play some shit music like bsb, britney, but on some stations they play bob marley, good latin rock (i don�t know the names of the bands yet) hendrix, pink flyod, zeppelin, and newer stuff like pm5k, limp bizkit (which personally i don�t like)korn, filter and there�s even german music...so the music here is better than the states and haven�t watched MTV south america yet cause i don�t watch tv
