Re: techno anyone?
Ever hear a song called "Marder" by Ramasutra. It's pretty good.
I personally like daft punk (althought their new album seems a bit cheezy), fatboy slim and Chemical Brothers.

Re: techno anyone?
nice one red try get hold of a tune by IF "space invaders are smoking grass" its realy good duby electro and nhil i put it to you that you haven't actually heard any good tech its not all just repetative nonsencei admit there is some electronica that is but thats generally main stream nonsence that i in no way endorce you have to search for good stuff try listening (by the way this is only a sugestion) to japanese telecom, dopplereffekt, drexciya, IF,dj godfather,dj assault. i admit to truly(in my opinion) enjoy tech to its full potentual xtc is advisably but do you get stoned to and apreciate your music more? its relative. its by no means black and white. its down to the indavidual what recreational drugs they take and how they apreciate them and anyway most techno has its roots in industrial and speed metal like gabba metal or even stuff like skinny puppy or ministry or atari teenage riot. and yes it may be easy to create some tech but that doesn't mean its a bad thing (i actually wright tech that gets played in various clubs) look at punk you could say that the three chord early punk scene way easy but i bet you dont consider that a waste of time.
im prety wasted so please excuse any sp errors dub

Re: techno anyone?
to all the pac men, its the freaken vein of the shit, like their is no point ,
than wasting your time while your bones are in demise(from xtc and dehidration)
i am or never was into punk, but the three chord vein is better than sticking home made pill up you blurter, and dancing around to nothing?????
minestry proberly has a few trks that had some decent themes and lived up to it, but the shit inspired by that is nothing like that atmosphere, it is all touchy feely, and designed to sell more filtered crap!!!!!
i actually make the shit(meth) but dont take it, i am a black metal guitarest, and i train 5 days at the gym every day and run a horde amoungst other things, but dont listen to music high, as the themes and sound scapes of vast majestical unrealenting darkness are not for the rechriational tastes, like pac men music,
talentless and talor made like the top 40 i will always think. plus for junkies!!!

I tried "Space invaders are smoking grass" but I didn't like it much. It's a bit to somber for my tastes.

Re: techno anyone?
ok red try a tune by aphex twin called "tamphex" be warned its pretty heavy or kraftwerk "electric cafe" or japanese telecom "charachter maps" nhil i can see im not gonna be able to curve your veiws but theres no need to go off on one just because you don't apreciate somthing. as i said befor i don't listen to the mass produced noncence i live in one of the most well renowned techno cities in europe i know what im talking about. try get hold of some gabba (hardcore euro speed metal) most of this uses 505's or 909's to produce the tech beat and fuse it with what ever the fuck they use to make that abrasive sound. and once again as i said before its relative don't call me a junkie just because i indulge in xtc im not adicted neither do i take stupid amounts or take it with out caution or regually. its purely recreational. itsd also the only drug i take apart from alcohol which i also do very rarely. dub.

Re: techno anyone?
dub, abrasive?? is any thing of it really heavy man, like intense, i dont mean toe tapping intense but shit you would not hand clap to the triangle being play hard stuff,
i might be interested, i have a few bands on the compilaton we the horde are doing with themes that are electro heavy metal, but i havent ever heard of this shit, i dont think it could really be all that intense if you are listening on xtc, which may be a rechriational type thing but do you know what is in that shit, ha i make meth and i know what goes into this shit thats why i dont use, i get REAL adrenalin out of weight training, and that keeps all the testos in my system and fires my energy and is real , no peaks just plateau!!! if their are any mp3 of any of that shit post them dude, and i will try and find some of the other shit. and yes im afraid you are influence by pac man!! hehehe

Re: techno anyone?
I tried out the songs you recommended and the only one I liked was "Character maps" from japanese telecom (What a cool name. If I ever start a techno group, I'll have to get a name like that.).
On a second note, did you see the new video clip from Fatboy Slim for the song "Weapon of choice"? The song is average but the video clip stars Christopher Walken and it's pretty cool.

Re: techno anyone?
I like the chemical brothers, There set at Glastonbury was something elce. Music is different for everyone, techno and trance are an acquired 'taste' I love the songs that I just get mixed up into, anticipating every change because of the patterns forming In my mind and going wild as you flow with the music as the mood of the music takes you on a journey. Before you say anything I have never taken Pills, I have smoked weed, but thats a different story. I love my music.
Oh and Nihil having a meth lab and selling it is one thing but boasting about it on a popular website it just plain dumb, I doubt you do make the shit as you would probably have more sense than to talk about it so openly here, yet again i do have to commend you for not being a complete dick and staying clean. I hear stories of meth labs blowing up cos the owner was stoned rotten, that might just be a government scare story though.

Re: techno anyone?
i would have to say the crystal method is my favorite techno group, their music owns i would rather listen to them over anything they dont really play repetative music but i mean have any of you heard of buisy child? thats a real popular song its was played on the movie gone in 60 seconds and they did a cover of one their songs with tha band filter "trip like i do" thats and awsome song as well. i am alson into trance and thats where tha repative music comes in but i mean sum of trance is gay but if you are lucky enough to find sum worth listening to its awsome. and Dj keoki is pretty damn awsome as well. and last i am not a raver nor do i take XTC, i mean you dont gota be a raver to enjoy techno, and i thnk that raves are mainstream bullshit, everyone i know heads to houston every week to go to a rave i mean we got preps going and all kinds of things.

Re: techno anyone?
hey dub.
nice music references. have you heard I-F's cd "Mixed Up in The Hague"? very good stuff on there. also, if you like dopplereffekt, japanese telecom, & drexciya - you should check out electroids. it's more electro goodness produced by the same/similar group of people. what other music you into, you listed mostly electro stuff? any IDM? any techno? any house? etc?
peace. ali

Re: techno anyone?
i'm not too big on house either, maybe some tech-house and a little Theo Parrish - namely his sound signatures cd.
i'f's mixed up in the hague v.1 (on cd) came out last year around this time. try to get your hands on it - it's really good. i'm not into disco - but he pulls out some old italo disco (like mann parrish) records on it as well as mixing in some newer stuff (like ectomorph).
i'm going to see autechre at the beginning of may (in chicago) and at the detroit electronic music festival at the end of may. i saw them before (in 95) and i like their older stuff better than the newer stuff - but i'm still going to see them.
i saw jeff mills in detroit on march first this year - he did a 6 hour retrospective set, starting out with some old school breaks, then some early big rave music, and finally some of todays hard banging techno.
IDM is "Intelligent Dance Music". a lot of different stuff falls under that header, Kid 606, Boards of Canada, Autechre, Aphex Twin, Ken Ishi, - and on and on. kind of listenable techno as opposed to dancefloor techno.
i haven't heard of takkyu ishino before - i'm going to check out some of his stuff next time i'm out spending money on music.
