Exploring Datura
I was just wondering if all types of Datura plants work ( I got the impression after viewing the pics that there are different types of Datura ), and what is the best way to make it into a tea, just boil the flower in a serving of water? Any good recipes?

Re: Exploring Datura
I've been reading about it, mostly on Erowid and it says that it can be deadly by paralysis or respiratory... is it really that powerful and dangerous? Or is this just one type of Datura to stay away from?

Re: Exploring Datura
nope pritty much all datura is "poisonus". datura causes dellerium, not hallucinagenics like shrooms. u end up believing what u see. so if theres a little green man chasing u, u believe it. yes it is that powerful. its very easy to get poisoning from it. i got a packet of datura stramonium seeds. nasty drug realy. u realy dont have to worry about addiction cause its mostly a 1 time thing. u do it and are scared away from it.

Re: Exploring Datura
Datura is fun in small ammounts apparently, but really, only a one time thing, no one really wants to risk all that for the sake of a trip, that only causes dellirum..

Re: Exploring Datura
Well yes, I've heard bad things about Datura Stramonium but what about the "tree Datura"? Like Brugambosia or whatever it is?

Re: Exploring Datura
ive never heard of any comparison between datura. i dont think enough people do it, or have the balls to do it, to make a comparison chart. and if i reemmber correctly tree datura is also very "poisonus"

Re: Exploring Datura
Just because you can doesn't mean you should. Datura is very dangerous stuff. Since the levels of poison vary substantially from plant to plant, you never really know how much you are taking. It's just not safe, and a lot of people have died and gotten terribly ill from this suppossed "free, easy and legal" high. It's not a high, it's a poison.

Re: Exploring Datura
All datura, tree datura, belladonna, nightshade, mandrake, contain scopolamine as the active alkaloid. So no, there is no difference between the various kinds. I've heard that witches use MAOI's (like Syrian Rue seeds) to activate small amounts of datura tea without having to consume dangerous amounts of scopolamine. But the recipies are hard to come by and I think it's a secret of sorts.
