THC still in your system?
I heard that after you smoke up, the thc is still in your system, and so after a day or so you can get the high back, you start feeling the effects of the weed, but on a lesser level. Is there any truth in that?

Re: THC still in your system?
umm i dont think that is what she meant.
when i smoke, i do feel weedy effects the next day. some of my friends call it feeling "burnt". last week, the week before winter vacation, i smoked every night and/or day from sunday 12/15 up until christmas eve 12/24 except for one night (night b4 a biology test) and i basically felt high all of the time. of course, most of the time i felt a lot less high compared to the 3 or 4 hours after smoking.
so to sum it all up, yes you do feel high the day after smoking but most of the time it is a lot less high. i think it has to do with "flashbacks" or things that trigger you feeling high but maybe it is THC staying in your system.
p.s. i got an 85 on the test so that proves weed doesnt make you a dumbass!

Re: THC still in your system?
I get the same feeling. Its really your brain because it remembers what it feels like and you can feel it for about 5 seconds or so, of course its not to the full affect of a real high but its still pretty sweet.

Re: THC still in your system?
Isn't THC fat soluable? I think I remeber hearing that it stays in your fat stores, so if you excercise or burn alot of calories, it re-enters your blood stream or something like that. I might be wrong, I don't know much on the subject...so don't hold me to it.

Re: THC still in your system?
I have been playing soccer for 10 years so the weed automatically re-enters my blood even when i dont exercise, though its very weaker than when smoking the joint. I think coke is much more clear when "aftertripping"

Re: THC still in your system?
Well, no you aren't getting high from the THC in your system. Think of it this way, if you feel the high hours after you smoke, then why would someone keep smoking to stay high? I see where you were trying to go with the mild high from the THC but it just doesn't work out like that. I would have to agree on the "flashback" theory (Although "flashbacks" are usually from drugs that are more psychedelic like shrooms or acid.) but it's more like your brain trying to adjust back to normal. Yes, THC gets stored in fat cells that's why it's good to work out if you are trying to clean up your system. The sweat that occurs from working out helps get rid of the THC and it burns out the fat cells.

Re: THC still in your system?
Yeah it clings on to the layers of fat around your major organs (wied that). Anyway, i was siting in college one day(long time ago, didn't stay there for long)i was just siting there thinking about puff in a science class then i suddenly felt stoned. i WAS stoned!! it's never happened since. I think at the time i just wanted it so badly that i managed to burn it out into my bloodstream (somehow) i was smoking alot that year.

Re: THC still in your system?
Personally, to me there is no other way of getting high again unless you toke again.
Exercise is the only slight way of bringing that high back. But even then to me its nothing really, if that. Like said earlier, its fat solubole, so when your body burns the fat in exercise, the THC should be released. Some people have told me they can feel it the next day when working out.
Exercise naturally produces a high by releasing dopamine.

yep... and this surely masks any "highness" that has been released. quote: I think at the time i just wanted it so badly that i managed to burn it out into my bloodstream (somehow)
i think your flashback had more to do with the psychological side than physical... as with any flashback- it's your brain "reinacting" the high, not your body releasing some mystical reserve of the substance. after smoking once there's not going to be any significant amount of THC in your system- therefore, you won't be high again.* [and think about it... you smoke once (at let's say- 4:20pm), you're high for a few hours, you go to sleep, then you wake up (let's say- 8:00). the THC has been processed the whole time (15h 40min) so do you think you're going to be as high as you were at 4:40 after having smoked ~16 hours ago? [*ok, you might misinterpret that one... you can, and may, feel "burnt" the day after [i do right now] but you are certainly not going to be laughing, drooling, and eating like you were during your previous high][This message has been edited by CRaZyAmishMaN (edited 12-26-2002).]

Re: THC still in your system?
when im sitting in class and i smoked the night before i can just sit there and i feel it for a little bit. But of course its not to the full affect or anything like that and i have to think about being high for it to happen. Its really not that great but i guess its better than nothing.

Re: THC still in your system?
No ofense to some of you, but IMHO I think there is no such thing as feeling your high the next day. I cant after 4 hours, not even a buzz sometimes. I dont consider being tired and drained a high feeling.
Especially after a good nights sleep, how are you going to feel the weed anymore?

Re: THC still in your system?
grungy- damn straight. frontalobe- shall i explain? [ again.] by saying "smoking once" i had meant one occasion of smoking; not smoking once in a lifetime. and even if one smoked every day for a year and then considered what we are discussing their tolerance would be up: therefore causing them to still not feel high the next day because [though there may be a lot of THC in their system} it is not enough to get them high. WHICH makes it negligible whether or not they had been smoking for a day or a lifetime. did you think the smoking once statement was linked with you? [there were two spaces between the comment involving you: this is what i do to signify i'm starting on a new subject. (as i did above)] [ i'm sorry if i made your manhood feel threatened] quote: do you actually read peoples posts?
i do. i will state when i don't. [because i have] now ask yourself: do you need to think [much] more about the posts you read? [and really, why were you curious? as you can see i quoted two different people... do you think i scan through and find things i know very little about and make things up, or what?] [This message has been edited by CRaZyAmishMaN (edited 12-26-2002).]

Re: THC still in your system?
Almost everyone seems to agree that you will get your high back if you excercise. Well, suppose I dont excercise the day after i smoke pot. What then? What if i smoke one day then the next day i feel high, not mellow-tired high, but giddy-laughter high. Whats the explanation for that?

the remaining THC is processed slower. quote: What if i smoke one day then the next day i feel high, not mellow-tired high, but giddy-laughter high. Whats the explanation for that?
well, one; you would be the [wo]man! two; that wouldn't happen. it's because the levels of THC that are required to get the "full fledged" high are used by your body and changed into something that won't get you high. what little that hasn't been processed is what's left; and it's not enough to get high.

First of all, I barely recognize my high coming back when I exercise. Dont exercise to bring your high back, its a waste of time. Although I encourage exercise otherwise. Want to feel a natural high? Go on a treadmill for about 15 minutes. Do what personally is a medium jog for you for the first 7-8 minutes. The next 5 minutes make it a rather hard jog, something that is hard to do, but you can do it without having to stop. The last 2-3 minutes, make it a sprint, as hard as you fucking can. Make sure to spend a feel mintues on a cool down jog. When you are done, you will feel very sharp, at ease, euphoric and a very clean high feeling it is. After you are out of the shower and just sitting down it feels great. I must say to make a goal in the running, thats an important mental part in it. Set a not-so-easy goal in the running, and MAKE yourself do it. quote: What if i smoke one day then the next day i feel high, not mellow-tired high, but giddy-laughter high. I sort of know what you mean. You are just happy because of a great experience you had the other day. Sort of like an afterglow, but not a "high" after glow. I used to get those 'uplifted' spirits the following days after my first few times. Even for vetrans it can happen, provided they have an exceptional, mind-blowing high. One they have not had in a long, long time. What you are feeling is not a THC high, definietly not. All mental, you have put yourself into a happy, giddy mode state of mind.

Re: THC still in your system?
Its got a lot to do with how much one smokes and how often they smoke. Someone who smokes three times a day everyday will usually have a constant buzz/high going all the time because of the "constant" flow of THC in their body. But if the same person who smokes three times a day quits for a week then smokes one joint or bowl, they'll probably only feel the effects for a couple hours since they have such a tolerance. But someone who smokes maybe once a week for example will probably be high longer from the same amount of dope and feel the after effects a lot longer cuz they're not as used to it mentally and physically tolerance wise. Hope this makes sense.

Re: THC still in your system?
Cripes almighty! I can't even leave for a couple of days without some myth perpetuating itself here! [Just J/K, BTW: Hope your Holiday was as f**ked up as mine.... I mean; as pleasent as mine ] Yes, THC is fat-soluble and so is stored in fatty cells in the body. But it is released is so small amounts as to not even affect any sort of a high - other than , perhaps, a placebo one.
