Anti-Drug Propaganda
In the past, anti-drug ads have been sensational, often misinforming, and usually lame. I don't see anything wrong with encouraging parents to talk to their kids. Some of these ads, though, are getting really fucking ridiculous.
So here's the new ad. Two guys sit at a table. One says to the other, "This 'Drug money funds terrorism' thing is a ploy, a manipulation. Why should I believe that?" The other guy responds, "Because it's a fact." The guy in the commercial even thinks it's bullshit. "It's a fact?" The second guy: "F-A-C-T. Fact." So you want me to believe it because its true? Thats your argument? It is true.
And thats it. No proof. No justification. Now things become facts simply because those in power say so.
Go here and get your fill of the bullshit: http://www.mediacampaign.org/mg/television.html
This one is Ploy, and its sequel Okay is only slightly less full of shit.

Re: Anti-Drug Propaganda
actually, i was just talking about this in the topic "why is weed illegal" and ill copy and paste what i put on there;
i saw this anti-drug commercial where these 2 kids are talking about some stupid stuff. Then couple seconds later, it shows one of the kids hitting the bong, and the other kid found a gun, said something like "hey dude check this out" all of a sudden you hear a gunshot. After that it said something like; Pot, It distores reality or something like that. It really piss me off after that.

Isn't it convienient that they can use terrorists now (after 9/11)? Where was this angle before? Joe bought a joint which funded a drive by by the dealer who paid the drug lord from South America, bla bla.... The worst thing is these narrow-minded sheeple that swallow this obvious concoction of fear injected, save the childeren, let's return to Leave it to Bearver simpltons! What about the BIGGEST drug dealer of 'em all--the Government? There are millions of xanax and valium heads running around and noboby cares because it's legal. Take those scrips back and half of the mothers who want to be Mrs. Cleaver will be shaking like a leaf for a week from pill withdraw. And wht is it always "Drugs and Alcohol"? Fucking alcohol is a powerful DRUG that rips lives apart--oh thats right its legal! Legalize pot, coke, and L.S.D. and take back the booze and you'd see crime and traffic accedents cut in half. Fuck these Marxist retarted lawmaking jaded fucks!

How in the hell does it support terrorism, i hate those commercials. We support terrorism everyday when we buy stuff because the tax money goes to the goverment. Who goes off and bomb places and kill innocent people, thats terrorism. So fuck their campaign and fuck terrorism, because terrorism is everyhwere its our goverment, its in iraq, afghanistan, canada(well maybe not there) but basically everyhwere you can think of there is some sort of terrorism. Thats why those commercials are so damn dumb.

Re: Anti-Drug Propaganda
heh, i just sent a message to www.freevibe.com 's "my story" board, I hope they post it
Please do not delete this post as I think it is important for people to know, that this anti-drug stuff is extremely stupid. Now, I say this in the most calm and un-harsh way that I can. I have smoked the "devil weed" since grade 7, I am in grade 10 now and I'm 15 years old. Now, some drugs do affect GPA. I am in the gifted(smart, not dumb) program at my highschool. I maintain my marks, they haven't dropped in the least bit. I think that you people just need a scapegoat for you're stupidity, truly. And many of you seem to have tried drugs without knowing anything about them. I know what I'm talking about, I've tried many drugs since grade 9. Not because of peer pressure, but because I was interested in altered states of perception. I have experimented with weed, alcohol, 5-MeO-DMT, salvia, acid, DXM, shrooms, many opiates, 2C-B, dimenhydrinate, and 2C-I. As I said, I have maintained my marks without struggling in the least bit. Drugs give people interesting perceptions and help many people deal with their problems. I have always been depressed, after taking acid I've been able to sort out my problems. Drugs can be very helpful. We shouldn't create anti-drug propaganda. This is terrible. Instead of focusing on what the drugs will do to very few people, we should be educating the public on the dosage levels so that they don't overdose and die. And there are many drug myths. To list just a few: -marijuana does not kill brain cells -you can not overdose on acid, you can be extremely messed up for many days(depending how much you have) but you won't die -the only deaths reported on acid have been because the people didn't have a sitter
I am sorry that this message didn't follow your message board policy, but it is important that people understand the truth. I am not promoting drug use, if you don't want to use drugs, please don't, if people are pressuring you into them, tell them to screw off. And if you are going to experiment with a drug, don't do it too often, because you may become addicted. Use common sense people and stay informed about drugs, don't just listen to one side of the story. Hopefully this message will have reached at least one person. Then they won't be persuaded to only follow the anti-drug propaganda.

Re: Anti-Drug Propaganda
That's why I hate that shit, because they're bad-mouthing stuff they haven't even seen being used. Some of those people probably haven't even seen *gasp* marijuana. And they go on talking about how they can get addicted after taking it once. Frankly, I think these people are complete idiots who don't know what they're talking about. They say on that site how 60% of teenagers are in drug rehab programs for marijuana. I'm guessing this is mainly because they're parents found some, and, being brainwashed themselves, thought their child was addicted. Well pshaw. I say we take down this site, start a petition, spam they're message board with threads about how great drugs are, just do something to piss them off lol. I especially hate people who say that people who smoke weed are violent. Most of the people who smoke weed are so mellow or lazy that they don't want to be violent.
lol, look at the reply to this question, I think the people running this site are complete idiots lol
randolf -- you guys said that magic mushrooms make a poison that causes hallucinations. if this is a poison, how then is is only possible to overdose on mushrooms if you eat somewhere near your body weight in them? wouldn't this mean that psylocybin and psylocin are not poisons?
Regardless of the amount needed to overdose, these substances are poisonous just the same. For more information on hallucinogens go to www.health.org Freevibe

12/17/2002 6:00:52 PM polarbear -- what do u do when your boyfriend promises you he wont do pot, and then does it and his personality changes completely. Do you back off and let him make his own mistakes or try to stop him, even when you know you're powerless now
Answer: You can not change what he does but only let him know how you feel. If at some point he decides he wants help to stop you can call The National Clearinghouse for Alcohol and Drug Information at 1-800-729-6686 for a treatment referral. Freevibe
Does she know that refering him to that rehab will ruin his life?

i remember the DARE program. It got me fucking scared of all drugs and it said if you smoked one joint you could possibly die because they knew we were young and stupid and we would be gullable to their every word(we were only in 5th grade) I think its a bunch of whore shit and im tired of it.
I only would smoke in a public place like behind the store where those dumb 18 wheelers go to deliver stuff or something where no one goes, thats what my friends do i havent done it yet but im probly going to just so i can be high and walk around through some cool stores and shit.

Re: Anti-Drug Propaganda
At my old school we had a D.A.R.E program.
The guy in charge told us all these stories about doing drugs and how they would kill us.
One such story was the case of an eleven year old girl who had been convinced to inhale LPG (mixture of propane, pentane and butane gas). Apparantly, she inhaled a lungfull then stumbled around a bit and then fell over. This was because her lungs had exploded.
Bullshit.
At the time I thought that they could have exploded because of pressure or something (hey, I was 11). But after a while I thought about it and i figured that the only way the LPG would have exploded is that if her lungs had 3% LPG and 97% air and she somehow inhaled a lit match.
The sad thing is, we all took what he said as fact. We didn't question it at all. So this can result in millions of brain-washed young people.
It makes me angry they feed people these blatant lies.

that truth shit sucks i think. cigarettes are not good for you. are there people that are out there that don't know this in america? also they try to make a big deal about the corporation's press releases and such. they sell a poison...they are going to try and downplay its harmful affects as much as possible. wouldn't you? i don't smoke by the way. also there magazine ads are lame. unlike freevibe where one minute you are reading a video game magazine next thing you know you are looking at 3 of the biggest joints you have ever seen.

I think alcohol really is one of the worst drugs. i mean the addiction really creeps up on you. mom's father has scerosis of the liver, and is literaly psychotic because of the toxins that destroyed his brain. If the motherfucker had been blowin coke, all he would have to show for it is a runny nose. He could have done anything, and it would have turned out better than this. fuck the government for alcohol. fuck people who r against weed and stuff but not against alcohol. Re: Anti-Drug Propaganda
I hate that bloody terrorist/drug connection ad--it is heinous, pernicious. Even if it had a grain of truth in it--maybe, just maybe some heroin or hash or coke money goes to terrorists--but still it is an insult to patriotic American pot growers and meth chemists. Ironically, one of the few honest and reasonable drug education ads was never aired. I know, because I wrote and produced the thing. Here's the script: POV--a young teens bedroom, we see him in bed, it's night time--Voiceover--It's midnight, and Johnny's getting ready to make his drug connection. Then we see the kid sneaking downstairs and getting into his parent's liquor cabinet. Fact is, the illegal drug that most kids use first is alcohol, and they usually get it first by getting into their parent's booze supply. We mailed that spot (it was on 16mm film stock, which will give you an idea of how long ago this was) to every TV station in the commonwealth of Pennsylvania. No one aired it--offended too many people.
