Default what would you do?

Ok..here's the senario's..

1) 28 hydroponic plants budding under 8 hours light on a 24 he day cycle.

2) 28 hydroponic plants budding under 8 hours light on a 16 hour day cycle.

Senario 1 you yeilded more usable weight then in senario 2, but in senario 2 you where ready to harvest in 2/3 the amount of time of senario 1

The end smoke is of the same quality either way...

I like big colas but in senario 1, but in the long term senario 2 produces a larger amount of grass.

why don't you just take the total useable weight, and divide it by the amount of time it took.

You'll end up with grams/day, so you can find out which is more efficient.

actuall the 2nd senario harvests the more useable weight in the long run...but i also make hash-oil out of all of my scraps...also very very good money spinner...where i get more oil from senario 1...

haha...doesn't matter either way..was just interested what others opinions would be

8 hours is not enough light. The plants need the full 12 to properly mature the buds. You're cutting out 4 hours of photosynthesis which will prolong the maturation process and possibly create amaphroditic characteristics with clones.

The winter light cycle in nature (where daylight may drop below 12 hours) is usually not encountered by cannibis as it seeds in fall/Autumn to avoid cold or frost.

Optimum light settings for most cannibis strains are: vegitative 19-22hrs and flowering 12hrs, whether hydro or not.

Shortening the day will just stress plants and deform clones.

yes i can se what your saying Neiztsche
but this strain won't strike into the budding process on anything higher than 9hrs belive it or not...i've had this strain (is a hybrid) going for the last 1 1/2 years and i started at a higher light ratio but no matter what i do stress them etc they won't turn on anymore light...

Well 24 hours light will not work. The plants will grow too tall and wont be able to support themselves. This will result in a bigger harvest though. What you may want to do is get a stick and put it in the dirt. And tie the plant to the stick to make it grow upright. This 24 hours will help a little if you do this.

But I would go with the 12-16 hours.

Are you sure that your plants have stayed in vegitative because of the genetic strain?

Do you know that just a tiny amount of light leaking in to your growroom or just a flash of light after your 12 hours are up will cause the plants either to stay in vegitative, revert back into vegitative or mutate into freaky hermaphrodites?

I have heard of a few northern strains that bud late into winter...but those seem inefficient for indoor. What's the supposed strain of your clones?

yes I'm sure of it...no light can enter...rooms are made out of 3 inch freezer walls..but thanx for the support...

The strain is a hybrid between a skunk 13 and a nice stavia bush stain that i've been working with for the past 7 years...

took me 3 genorations to get the desired product but was well worth the effort...

By the way...there is no problems at all...was just wondering what other ppl would do in my situation...
