I am posting this because i like to talk
Actually i am too stupid to think of a good title so i gave up. Now i here a lot about vaporizers and i was gonna splurge to get one but i i decided to be a cheap @$$. Now i know everyone b*tches when the here "homemade vaporizer" on this site and i have had a few shots so this may be the kamikazes talking, but i have this glass jar that has a noozle ate the bottom like in a gatorade dispenser at football games or a water cooler and i was wondering about your guys' though on this idea:
What if i unscrewed the lid and placed it so the open part was sitting ontop of a cookie sheet and on the sheet i took some "herbs" that had been crushed into a powder-like substance and put it on the cookie sheet. I think people know that this leads to it being put into an oven at about 200 degrees Celcius. But for those of you who don't know...this leads to it being put into an oven at about 200 degrees Celcius!
Let me know what everyone thinks and...oh yeah sorry about the ranting about nothing for a while.
PEACE

Re: I am posting this because i like to talk
are you getting in the oven?
200 degrees celcius is higher than 200 degrees F. and i'm not even sure if weed vaporizes at 200 C.
[it does at around 400F]
if you are putting it in the oven and planning on getting hits off it after it "cooks" -no. the vapor will either a)not be enough b)be lost as it cools or c)disperse through the container causing it to be very weak
to make a ghetto vaporizer that works: simply take the clear part of a lightbulb and put your weed in there, light a lighter under it, and suck.

Quick Vapourizing Fact:
A standard 60W light bulb will attain the temperature needed to vapourize THC without burning the bud.
This random probably well-known fact has been brought to you by a very stoned kronikus.

Re: I am posting this because i like to talk
Kronikus, how do you get the metal part off of the lightbulb. Me and a few friends endind up breaking like 3 before we finally just smashed off the tip. But it was way to sharp so we just used a bowl.
Whats the easiest way to get off the metal part? Or are there lightbulbs you can buy already without it on.

grab a pair of pliers gently squeeze around the top of the brass part [you should hear small cracking sounds] once you go around pull gently on it both the filiment and the brass piece will come off. welcome.

Re: I am posting this because i like to talk
i've tried heating it up, and i'm sure you'd have to use a blowtorch or something similar.
also, if you just take off the brass you'll still have to crack the glass.
the method i posted enables you to crack the glass as smooth as possible and take the brass off in one easy step. [i sound like an f'ing commercial]
