Re: chronic vs. hydro
chronic is used so vaguely... [around here]
hydro is used only for hydroponically grown weed...
either could be better, it depends on the plant and the grower.

Re: chronic vs. hydro
If it's lime green has lotsa crystals, smells strongly of that somewhat skunk smell it's usually pretty good, if it's laced with something its usually really good, i never pay attention to strain or name, or how its grown. i just look at it and sniff it and know if its good. BTW some people keep the weed wet to make the count look better, feel it also to make sure your not getting ripped off by in a sale, some people wet their weed down with nasty shit like diesel(sp) fuel before they sell it (NASTY) i know someone who got weed wetted down with diesel fuel, she fucking puked and puked and puked, needless to say it was a shitty experience to her
to the point, if i had to choose, chronic > hydro

both color and the amount of crystals don't show how good the weed is. quote: if youre not a dumbass, go get some white widow, durban, orange kush
can these not be grown hydroponically? quote: dont question me, im 17 with 8 years of tokin. i know my shit
not the right attitude, at all.

Re: chronic vs. hydro
ok, i assume that when you say "hydro" you mean hydroponicly grown herb. this can have a very positive effect on potency, if done correctly. "chronic" is a fairly loose term. i've seen several diffrent strains sold as chronic. kids in my hometown would pay a shitload for anything called chronic, especially after the dre cd came out.
in the end names are arbitrary. you can't accurately judge by presence of "hairs", smell, or crystals. just smoke a bowl before you buy ;-).

Re: chronic vs. hydro
take it from a 20 year veteran toker-if you didn't personally grow it yourself it isn't "hydro" as in hydroponically grown (rooted in liquid) chronic is just a slang term that doesn't mean anything but good dope. dealers will say anything for the profit. try it out first.

Re: chronic vs. hydro
Before you people start commenting perhaps you should figure out what the two are. Its obvious HYDRO is hydroponically grown weed, thats obvious. but CHRONIC is simply a strian of weed. Which means unless by saying chronic you mean simply 'good weed' then there is in fact only oine type of chronic.
And seeing as how chronic is a strian it can be grown hydroponically, so chronic can at the same time be hydro, which kinda fucks up the question.
If you wanna know which is better between soil grown chronic and hydroponically grown weed of any strain, then that cant be answered, seeing as how there are way to many strains with way to many potencies to come to that conclusion.

Re: chronic vs. hydro
chronic and hydro are just street terms for different types of weed grown in different ways....to say which one is better is stupid...Id say smoke some blueberry and youll be happy!

Re: chronic vs. hydro
I'm gonna throw a monkey wrench in the machine, and say that either hydro, or chronic are mediocre at best. If you truly want to taste, smell, and experience the epiphany of marijuana. find some expertly grown organic soil grown smoke. Any high quality strain will do, but I feel that Jack Herer, White widow, or mango are the best strains going right now...just my opinion though.

Re: chronic vs. hydro
I don't know what the hell you guys are smoking but the term "chronic" simply means great bud, regardless of the way it was grown. When someone wants to identify how bud was grown the term "indo" , "hydro" or "outdoor", "humbolt" would be correct terms. "Chronic", "Kryptonic", "Dank" "Green"refers to the quality. "Sinsemilla" (without seed) refers to the growth characteristic."Indica", "Sativa" or "Ruderalis" refers to the species. "Afghani", "Northern Lights", "Purple Haze" refers to the genetic strain.

What don't poeple understand? Just like NL, and Purple Haze are strains, as is Chronic. People who call good weed Chronic are annoying. I wouldnt call something White Widdow, or Skunk if it wasn't, so why call weed that isnt in fact CHRONIC, by that name? And if you don't believe me, heres some proof: [third from the top] http://www.emeryseeds.com/company-23.html

Re: chronic vs. hydro
Yes, someone named a generic genetic subset "Chronic" for lack of a better word. They also named one type "Skunk". I suppose that they will name future strains "Green" or "Dank". The point is they took these names from discriptive terms for pot in order to appeal to buyers who've possibly heard those terms floating around.
I really don't care what they name their seeds but the term "chronic" originally came from a reference to bud that kept you stoned for a long period of time.
