after being bored and looking all this shit up, i finally went down to the local pharmacy and picked up some robitussin honey cough syrup (115 ml). which containts 10 mg per 5 ml. so thats 230 mg. And i heard to drink grapefruit juice to help absorb it and react it in the stomache. so i jugged this shit back at lunch with the grapefruit at the same time until both bottles where empty. AFter hearing all these crazy ass stories i figured for my weight of 40 kg. i should get pretty ripped, considering its my first time, and usually drugs usuaally get me pretty fucked up. anyways, i wandered around town waiting for it to kick in. went to a budies house to tell him that there was a talent show, we should jam at. im not sure but i was a little edgy or somethin after drinking all that, as if it had taken effect. anyways make a long story short, went up to the school for lunch and this is about 1 hour after i had taken it. i had a smoke, i wasn't fucked up or nothin, but i was starting to feel the buzz. and i called someone the wrong name. anyways..all of a sudden i had the urge to hurl, and there was no way of stopping, so I hurled on the road and quickly went to the ally and finished up, sick puky syrup taste. sick!! so i figured i wouldn't get ripped at all. so i bought some gum and settled down. i was more talkative, felt pretty relaxed, and little bit tripped out. little slow. so yah, i had my discam the whole time too. and i took the bus home. and i guess i got a little bit of the after glow. so yah, thats probably why this is so long. but yah i was going to ask how i can digest this shit easier, without nessecarily having to extract it! i think i will give it another try. maybe the honey kind is not good? i looked at all the chemical ingredients and this fit the best. maybe my body just rejected it cause it was exposed to so much the first time? anyways thanx, hope u can help out, im trying to show this fuckin school that dxm can get u fucked up, cause they all say its fuckin retarded, (oh yah lets chug sum cough syrup, moron). lol. so yah, they are the morons for not knowing shit. kay thanx guys .lol

I advise if you wanna get ripped by drinking cough syrup, drink one bottle of BLUE label Robotussin Extra Strength Cough Syrup. Make sure that you get the blue label kind though. Any other kind will probably make you sick. Hope I helped you out a little.

i have a CVS(i think) brand that is Tussin Max. Strength Cough (in small print: cough suppressant). it has 15mg DXM HBr (the stuff u want) per 5mL (1 teaspoon). maybe it was the honey flavor of ur shit. or maybe u just couldnt handle it. you only weigh 88 pounds or something? that is light weight. i am about 125 pounds which i thought was light weight considering my height of around 6'0". since Tussin (prob same thing as Robitussin) has a higher concentration of DXM HBr than your stuff, you wont need to take as much liquid to get the desired amount of DXM HBr. my bottle is a 4 OZ bottle. if i drank a whole 4 OZ bottle i think that i'd get a second-plateau experience. i have about 3 OZ in the bottle but i have not tried DXM yet. i thnk u said that u know how to pick the right syrup, but if u dont, just find syrups with the only active ingredient being DXM HBr (higher concentration=better).

A chemical in the grapefruit juice is metabolized by the same enzyme that turns DXM into its cousin DXO (DXM gives more of a mental effect, while DXO is more body and "stoning" effect.) By drinking the grapefruit juice you slowed down the rate at which the DXM is metabolized. Typically people drink the grapefruit juice before ingesting the DXM. I'm not sure how well it works when they're taken at the same time. If you find that you have trouble keeping shit down, try DXM without the juice.

As far as strategies for avoiding nausea, there are a few things that help me. I like to eat a little snack either while drinking syrup or a little while later. I tend to go for carbohydrates and foods that aren't too heavy like bread (I like french bread), chips, french fries, and not too sweet cereal. I haven't tried this with DXM, but the herb ginger is pretty good at suppressing nausea. I think you can get it in capsule form or you can just buy some gingersnap cookies. If you have access to it, pot is very effective at controlling nausea and goes fairly well with DXM.

The honey syrup that you bought is good for DXM. Being so thick and sweet it doesn't really sit that well especially on an empty stomach, but it tastes a whole hell of a lot better than the regular syrup. It also seems to me that the honey syrup starts working a little bit faster, but that might just be me.

At some point some asshole is going to post something along the lines of "Drinking syrup is so stupid... blah blah blah... get a real drug... just smoke weed... buy some powder..." I can get other drugs. I prefer DXM to a lot of them. I can order powder, but it's really convenient to be able to get one of my drugs of choice at the local Kroger.

Be careful, Maximum Strength Cough and Maximum Strength Cough & Cold both have blue labels. Cough & Cold contains pseudoephedrine 30 mg/5 mL. You don't want that stuff.

DXM is a great thing. i use longs generic brand supper tussin blue label. its dxm, and only dxm. the first time i tried it, i puked at borders (outside). this was probably because i had recently eaten 2 99 cent bacon cheesburgers from burger king, so i dont suggest eating a lot before you drink the syrup. i drank about half a bottle of riccola honey cough, and half a bottle of vicks cough, neither of which are very good for dxm. anyway, i puked, and that was it. i tried it again about 1 week later, half a bottle of the longs brand cough. this was an amazing experience. i just had the greatest sence of euphoria...i wanted to go give hugs and crap like that. i was feeling optimistic about everything. nothing could peirce my high. ive been doing dxm pretty often since,and a little bowl of pot just makes it even better.im not sure how tolerance works after frequent use of DXM, but im pretty damn sure that i need a lot more to get high now. my first time, i drank a half bottle and got a second plateu trip, but now i drink about 1 and a half for a first plateu trip.anyway, i didnt mean to go off on my life story here, but DXM is great, so dont give up on trying it just cause u puked once. and... just a little drawback to dxm, sometimes you get a rash from it. the other day i had about 1 and a half bottles, and i got this fat rash on my head. i didnt know what it was, i never read anything about rashes. it was pissing me off cause it was so itchy, so i took a shower, and it spread all over my body. i just layed down for a while, and it went away after about an hour, and i was able to immensly enjoy my high.

When you guys puked, were you all dizzy and shit? Cause I REALLY want to try DXM trip, but I hate being dizzy and throwing up.

Use the dosing method described in the DXM faq at Erowid.

You need:

• A measuring cup with mL graduations
  
• A drinking glass
  
• A sink
  
• A toothbrush (w/ toothpaste)
  

Hold the bottle at arms length and open it. Measure out your dose. If at any time you get near it, hold your nose. The important part is never smell the shit! Fill the glass with water. While holding your nose, down the entire dose as quickly as possible. Hold your breath and drink at least one glass of water, preferably two or three. Immediately after, brush your teeth as vigorously as you can stand. Make sure you get your entire mouth, your tongue, and even your lips. Rinse.

With any luck, you'll hardly taste the stuff. That makes all the difference in the world. If you start to feel queasy, eat some bread or crackers. Don't burp.

I've managed to keep down an entire 8oz bottle that way.

An observation to ponder -

Out of idle curiousity, I looked around a bit at a couple of local supermarkets. The only syrups they carry in the 8oz size are the DM stuff. The max strength stuff is only in the little bottles. They still have that damn Coricidin shit, though...

If anyone is that worried about puking, I suggest using the extraction method provided at http://www.dextroverse.org/extractions.html

It's fairly simple and only takes around 1 1/2 hours to do. The downside is the time it takes and losing about 10% of the DXM that you start with. Well worth avoiding the nausea for a more pleasant trip if you ask me. Btw, I find when you brave all of the final lemon juice product instead of boiling it down, it's more effective.

As a side note I STRONGLY recommend against Coricidin. I once tried it and to this day I literally gag when I see the pills. It is my kryptonite.

i just wanted to note that trying to dilute your dose in water only makes it worse. i tried it a while back, and the horrid flavor is just as strong as without the water, only you have to drink a lot more of it. the best thing to do is forget about mesuring cups and all that crap, just grab ur balls and pour it from the bottle to ur mouth as quickley as possible. to get rid of the flavor, drink nestle pink quick, without milk. it really gets the flavor out of ur mouth fast. ...and to the guy who asked about feeling dizzy when you puke, yes, you do. not to dampen your intrest in DXM, you feel bad before you puke. after its pretty nice. you throw up most of the dxm, but some of it is still in your system, and you feel it, and its nice.

Element is correct, you need soemthing that only has Dextromorphan Hbr (Hbr=hydrobromide or something like that). if you take something with other active ingredients, you could get hurt or die (or just get nautious. this is the case for if you take something with only guafinsein and DXM HBr in it.) inactive ingredients dont really matter.

I have talked to people who have done DXM a lot and they said that weed and DXM are totally different things and they think that DXM is the best drug out of all drugs. I mentioned to them how the faqs online talk about music enhancement etc. but they said that weed and DXM are totally different but smoking a bowl after youve taken the DXM really increases the trip (they told me that you trip much harder when doing this).

and, if you are poor, DXM costs less. and it is legal so you cant get in trouble for getting caught tripping on it.

Well not for me. I drank a whole bottle of Robotussin(100ml)in about 5mins and then straight after i had my dinner.I had absolutely NO side effects and a great night.

ummm whats wrong with that pseudoephedrine mess? b/c i usually use vicks 44 and it has pseudoephedrine in it.
(btw i would use blue label tussin extra strength but i can't drive and the only place that sells cough syrup stuff in biking distance don't have it)

Too much pseudoephedrine can lead to really high blood pressure, heart arrythmia, general bad stuff. Check out this trip report. You don't need to panic as much as that guy, but it's probably not a good idea to take it too much. I accidentally picked up a bottle with pseudo in it and it made me feel shitty.

A note on the Honey Cough, I went to the grocery store yesterday and noticed that they now make a "Multi-Symptom" Honey Cough syrup. Avoid that one. It contains chemicals other than DXM.

O so THATS why my heart feels like a gnome trying to break out of my chest with a jackhammer... im glad i cleared that up... i think ill stay away from the vicks and stick to good ol tussin. Seriously it is wierd actually like feeling your heart beat... im kinda trippin right now...

Heh, yeah. I think I'm going to start discouraging the use of DXM. One of the best things about DXM is its attainability and a few idiots could ruin that.

One thing we don't need is a bunch of people getting caught on it, as that would feed the media with reports on the "dangers of an assesible drug". The media would aware the public of the drug and make it more popular. The more popular it is the more the DEA doesn't like it.

I don't think so. I had a pretty strong 2nd plateau first dxm trip on sunday, and it didn't affect my school work or anything. i did experience an afterglow yesterday (Monday) which was fun. i was happy and laughed a lot.
