misleading shroom growing info
Im quite angry, there is a post in the drug archives that says you can grow shrooms of off brown rice. Not brown rice powder mixed with vermiculite, just plain old brown rice and water....if innoculated with a spore print. Yes thats right, a spore print, not a syringe, but a print. Sounded pretty sketchy to me but the dude that wrote it sounded pretty believable so i tryed it. He said everything should turn out right if you use your head, well i did(autoclave sterilization and all) and everything didnt turn out right. After about a week the rice turned to complete mush and started to smell like something out of a dumpster somewhere in hell. I threw them out becuase they were making my room smell like shit and i didnt want to contaminate my pf tek jars. I just wanted to know if anyone else has tried and failed like me, or by any chance in never never land if anyone has accually had any luck with the method.

Re: misleading shroom growing info
Well, the not mixing with vermiculite part was wrong, but jars can be innoculated from prints. Thats how it was originally done. This is where sterile devices come in to play like glove boxes and laminar flow hoods.

Have many time does J.C. need to post something saying 'If you find something that shouldn't be there [i.e.: bad and/or misleading info, etc.], e-mail him with the pertinent information and he will remove the file[s] [This message has been edited by Metaphysicist (edited 12-05-2002).]

Re: misleading shroom growing info
I never understood what the "PF Tek" part stood for. I know what they are but where did they get that name from?

the PF Tek stands for the Psilocybe Fanaticus Technique seeing as in how they discovered the technique. might i add its just about the easiest and most sucessful "tek" out there and i owe most of my cultivation experience to it. you should check it out, its at Http://www.fanaticus.com/index
