Re: a new appreciation
I definately know where you're coming from. You shouldn't really be "looking forward" to being sober, but you should be happy to sober all the time (kinda the same, i didn't explain it well though). If you're not happy being sober then that's usually when you have a drug problem, or you are depressed.
The part about apprciating life however, was dead on (for me anyways). I noticed things that I never would have before. Every day I try to take notice of new things, or be more observant of other things, and also to try and think of something the way someone else is just to put myself in their shoes for a second or two.
Oh, and the only real problem with the post, is that it is one big run-on sentence more or less.

yessireebob. drugs help you do this, but can distract you from doing so (i think it's after i'm distracted when i wake up/come down and realize something that was right in front of me)

Ever heard of punctuation? Try throwing in a few "."s for now on to make your posts readable. Anyway though, I do agree, sobriety is a good thing every now and then.

Re: a new appreciation
I've felt like that, every time while drunk. As for stoned...well it's the paranoia that does that. But I've learned to ignore it and just...enjoy.

Re: a new appreciation
Sometimes, after I peak, I wish that I could just skip the rest and be sober again. I've always wondered how much of a shock it would be to go from being blasted to completly sober in just a matter of seconds
