K, im a newbie here. my drug experiences mostly involve lots of weed, low grade acid once, low grade E once (both of which barely did a quarter of what they were supposed to do...), 5X strength salvia, one hit of crack (wasnt fun) and various alcohols. i am interested in trying DXM. now, before you cock your flame throwers or yell at me to use the search option, i read through about 20 pages of posts here, and couldnt find the info im looking for, so here we go...

i have read all through EROWIDS vaults on DXM, and have talked to various sources on this, and am willing to try it out. im not sure of my exact weight, so lets say im in the 170-180 field (i know, im a bit out of shape...blah.). here are my questions.

1. What brands are good for the full DXM effect.

i know that drugs effect different people differently, but lets just round it out. i have a 4oZ bottle of Robittusin pediatric, but im sure its not enough to get me to even the FIRST level (i did some math, about 175 mg of just DXM in it...its a 118 ml bottle). i want to know which brands are the best (please give me full names, that way there wont be confusion when i go to get it), and how big the bottle should be, and how much to take (but dont get all technical and mathmatical on me, math was never my best subject.).

2. what places to get it.

i live in ypsilanti michigan, and we have quite a few CVS pharmacies here, as well as the usuall wal-marts, meijers,and so forth, but i have no car, so im pretty much stuck to walking to either a CVS thats about a 15 min. walk away or a few gas stations around here that have a very VERY limited supply or cough syrups.

3. which are better, pills or syrups.

if i can get cough PILLS with just DXM, what brands,and what dosages are needed.

and finally, how do i know if i have gone from safe to dangerous (as in, what are the first effects to know that i may be in trouble of ODing), and how do i know its started to take effect (IE: how long till it hits, ect.)

now, i know about the actives, it has to be ONLY DXM, no other active ingredients can be in it, but what about INactives, do they effect it in any way (kind of a stupid question ((they wouldnt call them INACTIVE if they were ACTIVE)), but still, better safe than sorry).

well im glad to hear that someone at least tryed to find the answers to there questions before just postin a bunch of dumb shit........for the inactives: you dont have to worry about them for the most part, just make sure there is no acetaminophen in the inactives; it is rarely listed as inactive but sometimes it is cuz it is a very low amount in one dose......there isnt a fine line between Oding and a second-third plateau trip.......sometimes there is with a 4th plateau though.....for about ur weight the OD level would be from about 2750-3000 mg......but that dont mean u can go drink 2749mg of DXM and be alright.......

what they have at CVS should suit ur needs just fine....around my way a 12 oz of tussin dm(CVS generic brand) is $7.50....im not sure what the exact type of Tussin it is(it escapes my memory at this second) but it is in a white and green box, and it has 10mg DXM in every 5 ml of cough syrup......for ur first time u should drink about 1/3 to 1/2 the bottle(4-6 oz) if u like it and try it more and start to build a tolerance, CVS carries a cough syrup called DELSYM.......it comes in 3 and 5 oz bottles......there is 30 mg DXM in every 5ml......this is about 540mg dxm in a 3 oz bottle and about 900mg in a 5oz. Of course its more expensive though

I only do DXM about twice a month to expand my mind...I've readu shouldnt use it more than 2 times a month but you will be fine if u do it once a week.

Oh yea one thing i forgot to mention, if you use the tussin dm it will hit you in about 45 minutes, but if you use the DELSYM, that contains DXM polystirex, which makes it an edible plastic which means nothing except it will take about 2 hours to kick in but the trip lasts for about 10 hours on DELSYM(notice on the box it says 12 hour relief heh heh, more like 12 hour trip)I think that answers all your questions.....Later On......time to go toke some salvia

The only pill on the market right now that contains only DXM is a pill called Dexalone that you need to order off the net. If you did get the pills, if I recall correctly the time it takes for them to kick in is longer and somewhat more inconsistent as the pills can sometimes have a tendency to form a clump in the stomach.

More or less all DXM HBr is the same. Robitussin is just as good as CVS. One thing to consider is taste. Robitussin Maximum Strength Cough tastes like ass. The first few bottles weren't that bad, but over time the thought of it makes me cringe. One of the awful ingredients is menthol. I think that's a big part of the ass taste. I hear that CVS brand doesn't contain it. That would be a good thing. I'm a fan of the honey cough syrups. They typically contain 10 mg/5 ml which is only 2/3rds of what Robitussin Maximum Strength Cough contains, but the taste makes up for it. It's also good for making tea.

One tip, when drinking syrup, I like to have some chips or something kind of salty to munch on between swigs. It greatly cuts down on aftertaste.

Why the hell would you subject yourself to drinking cough syrup when pure DXM powder is available everywhere on the internet for about $20 per gram?

Simply order it, gel cap about 400mg's and eat it.

If you take Allegra, or most other allergy medicines, you shouldn't do DXM. The chemical reaction could cause you to die. Be careful.

I don't remeber if the active ingredient is DXM, but Coricieden cold and cough will give you a great trip. Just take 4 to 8 pills and sit back and relax.

P.S. Don't get the High blood presure ones they dont work. The stuff your looking for comes in a green box.

Coricidin is dangerous........dont do that shit......the active ingredient is DXM, but it also has chloraphineramine maleate which is very dangerous.......it doesnt hurt to try it, i have, but only 2 times and i dont plan on doing it again

well he is right, Coricidin is the devil..I used to take that shit all the time and it fucked up my body hard core.. I even had to go to the hospital a couple of times because I thought I was having a heart attack which the doctor told me i was very close to having, as to what he said about hte trip, it is a very great trip , but definetly not worth it all.. Try robitussin max strength..thats good too,, i also did vicks 44 once and felt like my bones were rubbber and it was cool as shit.
