i just changed my bong screen my old one was bronze and the new one is steel i was wondering if there is any difference in them or is it just for cosmetics.

i think a bronze screen will wear out faster than a steel one

but all metals taste bad when burnt, a glass stem will solve your problems (both the taste and screen)

um you can buy glass screens?!?! where at? i never heard of a glass screen.

its not a glass screen its a stem, you dont need a screen. once you get a little resin in it then it will hit good and taste great.

except for the fact that it would break, couldn't be stuck in the bowl securely without plastic, and fiberglass would be burned and sucked through in little fibers (ooo, fun!)

what if you had a pyrex screen, decent size so itd fit into most sockets that wouldnt crack under heat or give a taste would be sweet to try if anyone could make one *nudge nudge wink wink*.

ive always screened all my glass pieces! people say it makes it taste worse and kills the effect of the glass, i have smoked them without a screen and i would have to agree, but i hate hittin the last hit on a glass piece and sucking all the ashes in my mouth once the bowl has cashed. How to you guys deal with that. As for as a bong its cool becuase the ash just plops in the water, but sometimes you know when you break your bud up real fine like i do you waste some of the green!

i found a site on yahooka.com that sells "screen buddies" little elastic plastic things that go on the end of your piece and have a screen to trap flying debris... though i don't think i'd stick a little plastic thing on the end of a glass piece.

In a head shop near me called Vibrations that actually sell glass screens. It looks like a small jak (like the game jax with the rubber ball) and is out in a glass bowl. It supposedly melts (i think it just gets stuck with resin) to the side of the bowl and will filter out debris. I doubt it will work on anything besides a glass bowl though

laerif, i would like one too. They fit in any glass pipes? how about glass stem bongs? I would rather have you ship it to me and i send you a check or money order wichever you perfer. i don't know about your headshops, but around here theres a headshop, and they sell glass screens. they are like 75 cents each.
