Has anyone ordered Amanita Muscaria aka Fly Agaric mushrooms off of the internet? Can anyone recommend a supplier or mention a supplier to avoid? How was the quality of the product? Was the product shipped promptly? Did you require any customer support and if so was the support provided professional?

If anyone has experience with the use of the mushroom, I would be interested in hearing your impressions of it. I'm always a little dubious about legal highs, but I only saw one trip report in the Erowid vault saying that it didn't work. Any suggestions on dosage? I've seen dosages cited anywhere from 3 grams to 30 grams. At one site they offer powdered amanitas at a significant price reduction. This would seem to be ideal for brewing in tea or putting into gel caps. Do the mushrooms retain potency in powdered form?

If anyone can provide me with further information I'd much appreciate it. I've looked all over the web and what I've seen hasn't really told me too much. I'm not really interested in whether or not it was the mythical Soma or about any sort of historical use; I'm interested in the practical matters of recreational use.

DO NOT DO AMANITAS, at least not if you plan on using your kidneys for the rest of your life, muscarine is very poisonous and the variety of amanitas used by shamans in Nepal is different than what we get here. Even there the head shaman sacrifices years off his life to filter the muscarias through his body, the others drink his urine, and they only do it in emergencies when some direct contact with a higher power is deemed nessacary.

The impression I got from reading at erowid.org and from shroomery.org is that toxicity of amanita muscaria was more or less a myth. There is a mushroom of the amanita family that is sometimes mistaken for muscaria and is very toxic, but buying from a reputable source rather than field collecting ought to minimize the danger of this.

The mushroom in question is an Amanita Pantera, it looks just like a Muscaria but yellow instead of red. The toxicity of Muscarias is a little overrated, but they are far from healthy, the muscarine has a lot of physical effects similar to Belladonna Alkaloids, like kidney and liver toxicity and dehydration. You can probibly get away with a few trips if you are young and healthy, but don't make a habit of it.

i occasionally go to alaska in the summers there are fly agarics all over the most potent part is the red peelings on the cap the first time i did it i was at a psudeo rainbow gathering i collected a paper bag full on the way up to the meeting area when i got there no one was around except a few other people so we all took our camping stuff and set up by a river where massive moose were kicking it anyway we made batches of tea out of the whole caps took off the white flakes hard to say what kinda dosage we all took but it was like alot of huge caps between 4 or 5 of us it was a surreal time around the campfire lots of distorted reality indeed and my sleep was extremely strange almost like lucid dreaming anyway i,ve seen the prices of the dried fly agarics and don,t think it is worth it to buy interesting to do but other pychoactive highs are better and cheaper

Man, dont do it. It wont kill you but they taste really horrible and make you feel nasty, almost like when your on coriciden. Dont do that either, they will probly kill you faster than anything. But really though, I found a patch in my back yard and tried them and it took alot just to get a mellow buzz. They are deffinatly not worth the prices asked on those legal high websites. Just go out and get you some psylicbin shrooms off your dealer. If you cant find them there then buy a spore print or syringe off the net and start growing your own. If you cant buy them off the net cuase you dont have a credit card, like me, do a searc for the FSRE or Free spore ring America. They sell spore prints by mail for a dollar, thats cheap. Just stay away from those awful Agarics

The FSRE doesn't sell prints. They give them out and when you receive one you are obliged to send them the print from your grow. You did give them back prints, haven't you?

amanitas are basically all posionous and as far as i know fly agaric is supposed to have a type of poison in it... thats what gets you high. its best to just pop psys. its pretty hard to tell alot of amanitas apart so i wouldnt recommend popping those, might trip and die or eat a destroy angel or somethun like that not worth it

it's the ibotenic acid which is toxic. that's why you dry the fly agaric before use, the drying process turns the ibotenic acid into muscimol(muscarine) which is much less toxic and more entheogenic.
