about making GHB, i was wondering how easy it is, and if the following works to make GHB.

Yes, foreign companies will readily ship you Gamma Butyrolactone (GBL), advertising it as paint remover, polish remover, etc.
They know what you're going to use it for!

It is pretty useless by itself; you'll want to convert it to GHB with Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) or Potassium Hydroxide (KOH). I very strongly recommend the Potassium Hydroxide. The end product is VERY high in Sodium or Potassium. Large amounts of Sodium is very bad for most people, but large amounts of Potassium (within reason) is actually good!


The formulas tell you to use 91 g KOH for every 120 ml GBL. They don't tell you this 91 g assumes you're using the commercial, impure KOH. If you had 100% pure KOH, you'd want to use 88.0 g (yes, I figured it out myself). 91 g of high-quality KOH will give you a slightly overly-alkaline product (8.0+ vs. 7.5). The high-quality KOH is certainly not 100%, it's somewhere in between. So 89 g is a good guess for how much of the high-quality KOH to use. It will also taste MUCH better than if made with 91 g!

This is probably one if the the simplest
'interesting' chemicals you can make. The
kitchen formulas do not adequately warn you of the dangers of the hydroxides, however. You MUST wear goggles -- one splash and you're fucking blind for life. Major bummer. Incredible heat is generated when you simply pour the hydroxide into water - a normal glass vessel would likely break - use borosilicate glass (Pyrex, etc.)

Will this work to make GHB? Also, what types of stores could i get Potassium Hydroxide at? or would i have to mail order it?

Why not simply use NaOH? Its much more readily available.

do stores sell it, or would i have to order it? i know my school has tons of it and i could prolly steal some. (maybe not cuz they watch me like lil secret agents cuz they know i keep stealing their scales)

Well, im not sure how pure the NaOH needs to be in regards to synthesis of GHB, but in any supermarket, you can buy anhydrous crystals AKA lye, lol. These are 98%-99% NaOH, though im not sure how pure its needs to be. Perhaps we can get some help from someone else?

Will NaOH work inplace of the KOH? Or would I have to find another way to make GHB? I know there are lots of different ways. (Not lots seperatly, but lots of variations)

hmm...you know they sell kits for about 50 dollars form the netherlands with all the ingredients to make GHB/Rohypnol...wait a minute...are they the same thing or no? arent they both date rape drugs?

You can use lye, just don't expect a pure product.

i think imma try to make the powder ghb tonight. the only thing i don't know what to do about is that the powder obsorbes moisture in the air, and your supose to keep it in air tight cotainer.
anyone got an idea on how i can make one?

Don't use lye. I was going to make ghb a while ago and found legit business in the U.S. to order the chemicals from. A simple yahoo search would solve this problem.
