hmmm....some Harvesting tips needed
hi all
i have a half-dozen or so females...well into flowering. I grew them most of the year outdoors but brought them in to a sunny window when the weather began to change. my question is: erm...*some* of the spiky-female bits(techical term) on the lower flowers are beginning to go brown....do I harvest each flower as and when they are ready? (I heard when 30 - 50% of spikes are browning). Also, what is the *best* way to dry/cure them. If at need to look in another forum...plz let me know. Stay safe... NyghtOwl

This is the correct forum..
But NEwayz, the best way to dry them is hang them upside down for a while. I dont know much about growing weed so i cant tell ya when to clip, but I know hanging them upside down drys them

Re: hmmm....some Harvesting tips needed
Ok right well, you want to concentrate on the top one-third of your girls. Whoever said 30-50% was one who never grew before because that is just absurd. I must point out that patience is a virtue in cannabis cultivation that'll pay in spades. So haste makes waste. You say the hairs are brown?! Were they white before brown or were they another colour before brown? Brown is not a colour characteristic to any ripened strain of weed I've ever heard of. Basicaly, the rule of thumb is once your hairs form and are white you are seven to fourteen days until time to pack up your girls and put em' out to dry. Now onto curing your smoke for optimal potency and smoothness of your fruit of your worthwhile labour. ie. buds I don't know your topography where you are, but if you can go to your reasonably nearest forest where folks don't particularly go and "hang out". If this isn't feasible I will after this explain your other option though it is second in efficiency and short duration for drying to where you can smoke it in a Zig-Zag/Rizla. Ok. Cut your girls in half. Leavethe top half intact. The bottom strip the branches and bundle em' with the ends that were attached to the stalk packed to about the size of your fist. Duct tape or tie with string(duct tape is better) now why the forest?! Because you are gonna want to take you a hammer and nails or carpenters staple gun and nail them upside down in the trees. This does multiple things all at once for you. #1 your girls will be reaking with all their glory. #2wind dries shit faster even if it rains here and there than anything else. #3 this allows you to truely properly cure your cannabis by hanging them upside down. This is important because gravity pushes all the precious THC to the ends of the plant whichis your buds which have THC already and so they trap and hold the THC that does drain down to join them. #4you are able to camaflouge your harvest because nobody and I mean nobody will be suspecting anything up in some trees! After five to seven days go and pick a bud off and see if it'll roll up in a cone if you will and light up and keep a cherry. That is when you know your crop is run its course and ready for vacume packing and deep freezing storage minus the stash required day to day. Because oxygen degrades THC after cannabis is dead and dried. Its funny because you have to defrost your frozen stash as well as watch for freezer burn!! lol!! Ahh shit I got to run to Fed Ex but I will complete my reply here with Plan B if it is deemed necessary. If it is announce it and I'll post it.

Damn jameroquai your a nice guy for a type up like that. hehe anyways, anyone know the germination rate of seeds? cause im not sure at all. like i throw one in the ground at it will grow, or i throw 10 seeds, and hope for 1 to pop out/have 10 plants growning in the same place? i want to buy some online, but the thing is, cant i just save seeds of some really good bud i bought, and just throw them in the ground?

You're doing it wrong then. Sprout your seeds at home first. Take them and wrap them up in a paper towel and soak in water. Put it some where and resoak when it drys out. Within a week you should see a stem coming out. If you wait even longer you'll see roots going into the paper towel!
