Growing babies need HELP!!
Hey- I'm growing some Ummmm, "special" green little friends, 5 of them in fact, and while they are all doing great and about 4 or 5 feet tall, and they have small leaves at the bottoms and nice bushy leaves at the top. I live where i can grow in peace and they have their on room (my pantry) and 2 Gro-Lux lights and 3 spot lights. recently one of my poor babies got leaf damage and refused to grow so i had to pull it. Now i am starting to see a problem with the remaining plants wanting to lean or fall over for NO apparent reason. they had been totally fine and they have nice thick stalks...could i have damage something in the roots when i pulled the sick one?? I am proping them up using coat hangers but it worries me there starting to lean. They are about 3 months old and as i said easily 3 feet tall not counting roots. they are in 10 gallon planters bought at walmart and i had been giving them about 13hrs of light a day... is it time to cut back and let my babies bud? I am starting to think i should before they all die lol! if i start giving them less light i was told they'd stop growing and start to bud. true? hey, sorry all the questions, hope someone can help out. Laterz all you freaks, I'm off to go drink Sky Blue and chase it with Nyquil....gives ya one hell of a buzz actually.

Re: Growing babies need HELP!!
cutting the light cycle to 12/12 will make it bud... i'll ask my friends back home that used to grow about it, & i'll post if they know.

Re: Growing babies need HELP!!
how high up are the lights? if your lights are too far away the plants grow more to reach the light causing them to be taller and the stalk cant support the plant (it grows taller faster than the stalk gets thicker) but you said they were 3 feet and think stalks so i dunno.

Re: Growing babies need HELP!!
Put on a 12/12 cycle immediately. Indoor plants do not need to be 3 feet tall in vegetative. You will stagnate the budding too much (the top buds will be done just as bottom buds begin to grow). They will still grow another 5-8 inches in the budding cycle. Next time, bud them when they're about 1-2 feet tall. AND GET REAL LIGHTS.

Re: Growing babies need HELP!!
your problem is your lights; they suck. and you appearantly didnt know much about growing indoors if you let them get to 3' tall in your pantry, talk about inefficient use of space!
and next time, try not to reveal so much information, i lived in huntington for years, and wouldnt consider it a 'safe place' to be growing pot, expecially if youre a social drug using creature like you seem to be. when you show them to one person you can be sure that 2 more will find out. one person down the line gets pulled over with a sack, says 'well i know where an indoor garden is' and you might not even know them or know that they know. cops around there wouldnt know a dank garden if they busted 5 of them tomorrow, to them youd be the fucking pot goddess of hton.
go buy a grow guide and start over, with some real lighting, and a clue as to whats going on.

Re: Growing babies need HELP!!
Jung, you have some skills, flaming an honest and articulate question.
If they are in the same planter, you pulling that one plant could have upset the hold the soil has on the roots (even if just by a little bit because of the plant's weight).
What kind of soil are you using to plant?

Well seeing as to how NOBODY bothered to answer your question, I will. It sure seems you did indeed rip your roots and more importantly your rootballs when pulling the sick one. And you guys fucking just relax on the person about "your lights are shit!". Because even though you bastards "know" your shit you don't like you think you do. Pay attention to the height of the plants at hand.#1 #2 your way is not "THE WAY" to grow. It is one way(and from what you all post here and there it is has room for improvement). We don't give a fuck about your alleged skills at growing like you are the shit or something. Simple couteous humble advice is all that is needed. And by the way my lightbulb is better than any of yours it is called the sun foolios.

Re: Growing babies need HELP!!
Hey- Thanx to all who actually posted USEFUL info, and BTW to all who said my technique sucked or what ever else, Ummm for one thing I got the goddamn growing guide I'm using off of THIS site, and for another thing my babies have been growing great, I read about how they need white light not red because red will make them grow too tall and spindly and fall over. I have decent lights, ones that say they are for indoor gardening and ones that are reptile lights b/c i used to have an iguana which also requires imitation sunlight so i knew what type and spectrum to get. I guess it's true about opinions and assholes though so i'm not taking offense. And thanx to the person who warned me to be more careful, honestly when i filled out that info shit i had no clue it's be posted along with my name and shit. But as for telling people, these plants are hidden in the house where you'd have to know where the pantry was the get to them, and no one comes in my house that i don't know and even then no one ever goes wondering off into my kitchen. it's at the back and I make sure I get anyone drinks or whatever. But thanx for the warning anyway. i guess you guys sorta answered my question but what do i do now? I certainly am NOT going to "start over" and give up on these beauties! what a fuckin waste! these were great seeds too. So can someone maybe tell me how to fix the problem with the roots or tell me how to get them to bud quickly before this happens to them all? And by how much can i start to reduce their light quickly? Once again thanx to all the HELPFUL people out there, and please if your not trying to help me then don't bother to post cause i really don't care if you think I suck or am stupid, i only care about honest constructive critisism.
