Everyone keeps saying that they are dry where they live. Here in maryland it is easy as fuck to get weed whenever you want it. I can walk to the end of the street and get it easily. If you all live around maryland and you are dry, just head up to bowie and ask around and you will get a hookup. The weed is decent here, they have every type from crap to purple haze. thought i would let you guys know since im seeing a lot of posts about everyone going through a drought

my part of NC has been dry, but it's only cuz we had 60-some-odd pounds confiscated by the man about a week ago.

when i moved to AZ, in april it was easy as fuck to get good shit, but for like the last two months everything is really shit, and hard to get. Most people i know dont even smoke weed now, the weather has forced them to switch to other drugs

I'm going to guess the reason there is no drought in the states farther north has to do with the amount of shit coming into the border states from Mexico. Before the current supply shock, people around here could pick up an oz of Mexican shit for $50-$60. People could get a fat quarter of schwag for $20. A lot of people, if given the choice of spending $20 on a gram of hydro or a quarter sack of schwag, will buy the cheap shit.

So, this means that compared to a state farther north, imported Mexican weed makes up a much larger portion of the market. So, imagine 90% of weed consumed is schwag and 10% KB/Hydro (which is probably about the ratio I observed around my area when supply was good.) Suddenly, the border closes down and only a tenth of what was getting through now gets through. Can't get anything from Mexico, so now it's up to the domestic producers. They were doing okay supplying 10% of the market. Really, the shit from south of the border was so plentiful and cheap that they couldn't get that big. Now, all of the sudden, they're being asked to supply an additional 80% of the market. That would be like telling them, "For every plant you have growing now, plant 8 more." That's just crazy. So, prices go up. You've got a lot of pissed of potheads who are used to smoking a lot of cheap import being now asked to smoke a little bit of this expensive domestic. Eventually, if the border situation doesn't clear up the domestic producers will take up the slack, but with a plant that takes a while to grow and the possibility of this being transitory it will take a while.

Of course, you might ask, "But, we get Mexican weed in Virginia or Carolina or wherever. Why haven't we experienced a drought?" The simple answer would be that the proportion of cheap Mexican weed on the market in those non-border states is not nearly what it is on the border. If there is a problem with Mexican weed getting through, the domestic producers have the infastructure in place to ramp up production and take up the slack.

Juneau Alaska = Not Dry at all. I'd say thats mostly cause a lot of the shit is local here and the stuff that isn't generaly comes from matanuska valley area (best soil in alaska) and ppl just bring it down in small boats, no customs or anything. ALthough I know about a month ago it was dry for about a week / week and a half when 9 lbs got intercepted (which is a lot for this town).

I was talking to a friend of mine today and he was talking about some giant bust in the midwest. Something like 88,000lbs of bud was seized. And appently the DEA is trying to make October their big month for raids and shit.

Shit's been "dry", as you all put it, here. Sucks too. My main family connection was gettin' shit from New York, but his man cut him off. He's stuck with sellin' crap green. I don't like buyin' it too much unless there's nothin' else. In my situation, nobody has got any bud. The only shit that's been kinda readily available is some KB. 50 bucks for an eigth. I don't got a job and that's killin' my wallet. Maybe the drought's causin' it, I don't know. All I know is I hope this isn't a sign of things to come. Well I do this. The DEA is reaching the end of their fiscal year as to their budget the Fedral Government breaks them off. Also, this an election year for many politicians and this always means bust after bust. If you ask me, as far as weed goes. You should guerilla garden like me and many others. I'm pertaining to outdoor growing versus indoor. Also, if more people did so we'd be in less dependant on Mexi/commercial brickbud and keep the cashflow in our borders. 75% of all $$$ spent on illicit drugs is spent on cannabis sativa. The most bulky package-of-pleasure one could "move". Think about it.
