My mom just got back from the hospital (abdominal surgery), and she's been using her vicodin 5/500 for the pain. Right about now, she kinda reminds me off someone whos tripping on acid. Accept she goes to sleep every few minutes. Is she just talking in her sleep (very erratically), or is it possible that the hydrocodone (or the morphine given to her at the hospital) could have caused this? I've never known it to happen, but I figure its possible.

I dunno, sounds more like the morphine. I have vics stronger than those for the four teeth they chiseled out of my head a while back, and I never got that out of it. Sluggish and amotivated, yes, but nothing like that. I do tend to be chem-resistant, though.

i had surgery on a broken leg a couple of weeks ago and they gave me that stuff, its mostly acetamenophen(sic)and codine which is a synthetic form of heroin/morphine
it makes me fall asleep alot, feel dizzy and talk out loud about weird stuff... but of course i take more than i should heh heh heh
they wont give me more of it though-sad- its back to booze,cid,and stuff

Ok lemme try to set you guys strait the best i can. Hydrocodone and Coeadine are not the same thing at all. Hydro is a syth opiate meaning it binds to opiate receptors in the brain and acts like an opiate. Coedine is acually a opiate, and so is morphine there is no synth about them. These are the only true opiates. Yes Herion is an opiate also but it is proccesed chemically from morphie to break a few bodily bearries of morphine and give a big rush as i would suspect hydrmorophone is (someone correct the hydromorphine statement if its wrong).

On the next note hydrocodone has never made me talk to myself or go crazy, niether has morphine or any other opoid.

for the person who explained about synthetic morphine you are kinda right. i work in a pharmacy just for your info. the thing is everything (percocet, vicodin, oxycontin, etc.) is all morphine based. and as far as the receptors part of it you are right. for the person who said they make them tired...your taking the recomended dosage. if you took two instead of one you would feel a false sense of well being...happy, energetic, and wanting to talk alot. its the best feeling, however thats why so many people are addicted to it. everyone wants to be happy and full of energy 24/7. but thats not how real life is...unfortunatly we live in a society filled with grief, stress, depression and so on. for those who are addicted to this i advise you to stop or slow down. remember the max dosage of tylenol in a single day is 4000mg. so while your doubling your dose, your doubling your tylenol intake and thats how people over dose and have liver damage. anyway...just be careful, have fun but dont be dumb. no high is worth your life.
