ive never heard of anyone using salt to regulate growth. you may just want to top your plants when they get to the height that you want. this will increase lateral growth.

Salt will just fuck them up!! As already stated you need to get a short strain, maybe initiate budding earlier. Indica strains tend to be more compact.
