does anyone have info on road flares containing red posphorus

Road flares do contain RP but it is in such small amounts that it is not worth the cost.

If you only could respect acidmelt's expertise...He probably has the cleanest tweak his side of the Mississippi. He told you it wasn't worth it. Now go raid a University lab or go buy some match books like the rest of us.

all right then, give it a try if you really want to. It is the reddish brown stuff (looks about the same color as the strikers on matchbooks). It will most likely be whats on the tip of the flare. What are you planning on doing with it when you clean it off the flares? Do you know how to clean it? How many flares do you have, and what size are they?
