In Afganistan, there is a group called the Taliban who is unoficialy ruling over the land. You may have read stories about their actions to destroy the statues over there (Big Fucking Deal). Anyway, since they are Muslim, they have decided that growing poppy seeds which are mainly used for opium drugs is un-Islamic and have banned the growing of poppy seeds.
Now, you may be asking yourself the following question: "How does this effect me, the heroin user?" Well kiddies, afganistan supplies a whopping 75 FUCKING % of your precious poppy that is used to make heroin, opium, morphene, and the like. So, there will be a 75% price increase.

Anyway, everyone will be paying out the ass for opium next year, just thought I would let everyone know.

Reactions, anyone?

P.S. America has spent 20 years doing a "war on drugs" and done jack shit. In about a year, a rebel group has cut down opuium output by 75%, hows that for a kick to america's nuts?

I suppose except I am in a deep water port and international boats are not uncommon and more likely the "fishing" boats go out and make rendevoues in international waters since the fishing industry shit the bed.

just a stupid thought but maybe we should all buy a lot of heroin then and save it for like a year or too untill the price skyrokets then just pop out of nowhere, saying hey ive got a ton of heroin and ill sell it cheaper than the other guy and still make a ton of profits hmmmmmm

It still is a controversy,(well I don't have access to satellite imagery)but I heard this rumor as well as another one from someone working in an ngo there, said that they never grew so much H than this year.(After all money doesn't grow on tree(great movie that "Money Tree" ) and how do you want them to run their country, only rocks grow there...
Right about the elasticity of the prize of the product, but don't forget that now the zapatistos are growing poppies in Chiapas. Poppy even is growing on some Carribean islands such as St Vincent, And what about Burma, Thailand, some ex-ussr republics...
Plus the regular perfectly lawful growing in western world for our pharmeucitical needs. One true thing though is that due to the UN efforts on reducing poppy growing, the price of morphine skyrocketed last year(it's just more profitable to do heroin rather than morphine...)
The chems analog are still pretty dangerous(cases of early Azheimer's disease recorded among (ab)users in California few years ago.
Anyway the UN said recently that they are planning to eradicate from the planet Heroin as well as Cocaine within 10 years...
Guess that our good Dr Shulgin came with his two tomes riiiight in time.

Yeah, but the point is that the poppy that comes off of the boats is shipped to wherever in the US and other places, made into H, morphene, whatever and then distributed within that country or reigon. Also, even though new places are growing poppy, theres no way that it will compensate for the 75% loss on the market. The new places will maybe cut it to 70%, 65% at the most.

atom- they are not shipped anywhere. opium tar is taken from the pod while on the plant. The pods are then removed and died and the remainer of the opium(a very small amount) scraped and the seeds filtered out.

Well, the stuff that they grow in afganistan isnt made into drugs in afganistan. That happens after it is sold to dealers later. So whatever they sell to the dealers isn't the actual drugs. However, it becomes 75% of the opium based drugs later on, so it affects the market greatly. But whatever.
No matter what happens, the H users are fucked moneywise.

Slp! About 3 years ago a story came out. You were only 13 then so you probably didn't pay attention. Mother's of New York were flying with their children to Columbia to purchase cocaine because it is helly cheaper. Then, they would fly to Eur/Asia to trade the cocaine for heroin because it's difficult to get cocaine there. Then, they brought the H back and made a killing. Selling the heroin made the guy who sponsered the mothers pretty wealthy...until he got caught. That's just a story of the economics of drug smuggling of a ring of ppl who got caught. You think there isn't ppl "smuggling" off land ths moment? The big quantities of Heroin traffic are not always on land, Most of the smaller quantities are though. It's just that there's so much traffic on land that it is easy as hell to get busted and that's why ppl think this.
