ummmmmm.....I beg to differ...in theory the extraction can be done, but it's a bitch and a half. get the good stuff from some outdoor supply shop. pure iodine crystals for something like $12 for 1/4 ounce. or try to precipitate the iodine from an iodide solution(e.g. potassiumiodide) with 27% H2O2 and concentrated HCl

yes, and limited to 1 lb per 6 months per person, im pretty sure. tinctures are not though and can be distilled. this is a good tinc for city boys only, who cant get iodine water purification(god damn they are pretty fuckin pure too) shit, or iodine tinc for horses(hate this, so stupid, but hey most meth people are trailer trash, so it makes perfect sense...

its just that for some people... tinc from farm stores is a lot more accessible than other forms. And yeild isnt too bad from it either. But there are definetly better ways..

how funny, cause instead of having how to clean up purer iodine products on your site, you have stuff pulled from rhodium or something like extracting iodine from horse medication which has an aweful yeild, especially since hydrogen peroxide in itself most often than not has to be distilled out of antiseptics. So you got 50 bottles of human antiseptic, to make a little tiny bit of iodine from a gallon of iodine from horse antiseptic type shit, which you are gonna neet a lot of that too, so basically you might as well by your chem supplies with all the money you get from recycling the plastic hydrogen peroxide containers, and metal iodine tinc cans. you should really post new iodine methods, i keep getting emails from people on chemhead and totse wanting to know about how to get iodine cause they arent happy with the sock n cut treatment tinc recrystallization. Water purification products should def. be a new iodine purification/misc pre cursor thingy on yer site acidmelt.

the basic ?? was if you can extact iodine from betadine and therefore HOW to get it. you can sublime idodine from betadine with a cold finger extraction. but it really isn't worth the trouble. so IMHO it's better to order the Real McCoy from some outdoor supplier (no questions asked; a li'l bit expensive though) or some army/survival store. and about the 27% H2O2...poolstores have it as "Pool Shock" or some such so no need to destill it from that 3% antiseptic (I also doubt that more than 1 or 2 ppl posting here can do that anyway). I hate that chem anyway. creeps in every crevice, stains everything it comes in contact with and is generally a bitch to handle (for the kitchen chemist that is). I'd prefer the pressurized hydrogenation over the red P/I method anyway.
