Does anybody know a good file or care to explain how to grow shrooms. All i could find some far fetched anarchist cookbook style file telling me to place the spores on a slice of potato. There is more too it than that i am sure, oh and does any one know any place where someone might aquire some spores, I read that the spores aren't legal is this correct ?

I was just in the midst of preparing myself for mushroom picking in the summer-fall season.
www.shroomery.org is a good place to start I am currently reading about the things to look for and avoid while picking shrooms there.

I think they sell spores I would have to double check but I know they have some good info on growing.

One of the key things that you will find outa all your growing info is to KEEP EVERTHING EMACULATELY clean untill the mushrooms have taken a good foot hold on your medium an unwanted bacterial growth can cause brain damage or the likes and also damn near always ruins an otherwise good batch of shrooms. The main problem I found with trying to grow these suckers is keeping em moist enough you gotta almost become a slave to your terraium.

you may also consider looking in www.erowid.org for picking information on amanitas (fly agaric) mushrooms.

amanitas grow all over europe and the pacific northwest and even in quebec.

they are very abundant in all those places excluding quebec and can easily be prepared for smoking with marijuana in a pipe.

I'll keep an eye out for that shroom RC. I used the search feature here and found shit loads on how to grow it. Just a few questions:

1 What is a mason jar
2 I still can't find any spores. I don't have a credit card so i can't order any online if anybody here has some I will pay in cash, its not illegal are they?
3 What is a pressure cooker, what do they look like and how much do they cost ?

...try just getting one of those herbs books...any kind, even the ones that try to keep you from mind altering drugs because they describe the shit pretty well, like you can get the names and much more in depth description of the wild shrooms from that, and go to websites like this for the effects

Shrooms are easy to grow. The shroomery (sa\ee that link above) is the best place, they have a BBS there where you can get questions answered. I'm regestered there under psilocybian.
If you want the easy way, just buy a $90 kit (I did) from www.sporechicks.com. Follow the directions. The kit comes with everything you need.

a mason jar is like one of those jelly jars with a latch at the top and a thick rubber seal to ensure the seal being air tight.

most companies that accept credit cards will accept money orders too that you can get by going to a convienience store and giving them the amount desired plus a few extra bucks for a checks filled out for the cash value you paid for minus the surcharge. then just write the company name on it, attach your order and mail.

spores are not illeagal because they have no, I forget the name of thet phsyco active shit but it's got none.

but I am suggesting not growing but instead picking.

it is dangerous to pick mushrooms and should only be done with a good book that was written expecially for your country or continant and preferably a friends that has expieriance in the fine art of mushroom picking.

I am mostly looking for amanitas this year but if i find some blue halo's or liberty caps I will harvest them too.

I read some where that spore prints cost next to nothing to make, as they are not illegal would any one here consider posting me a few i will send money for postage (and a little extra )

Well if anyone here was willing to send your a spore print our problem would be effectively getting it to you. Im sure theres a chance some of us here probably could autoclave a hypodermic needle and through some spores in it for you and send it off but not too good of one. A pressure cooker I'm assuming would basically perform the same functions of an autoclave to use high temperature steam to steralize everything this heat also gets into crevices other solvets could not.

i guess.....

If the spores are sterile what is the point of having them, sterile means that they won't grow. Or am I just uninformed?

No ur right dude just everything thier transported in and especially grown in has to be sterile to stop bacterial or other fungal infestations from ruining your crop.

I'll trade a few prints of mine if anybody's willing. It's starting to get warm around here too, so I hope to be visiting the local pasture soon and collect some wild prints.

wild prints? how do you steralize them and identify them?

Identification is possible with expierience the sterilization? Who knows hope for the best I suppose and there strong wild mushrooms used to having to fight off competitors I suppose.

steralization is one thing, but tagging the species is another since two genuses can look exactly alike but share completely different alkaloids and toxins. you'd need a lab or you might end up really fuckin sick or makin someone else really fuckin sick. just imagine sendin someone a print of shrooms you thought were amanis muscara and they grew them and sold them and you wiped out a small canadian town. oh wait, that would be funny, then rc wouldn't post anymore. i guess his mushroom picking season would come to a close after that. look, its weekend at bernies

I'll trade spores for other spores. I always like to try new species. I still got half a print of what was sopposed to be mexicana that I never fucked with. I suggest throwing them on some agar, since they are probably not sterile. I sent some to workman from sporeworks and shroomery to work with, but I havent been in touched with him for a while. He never seems to be in chat anymore dammint.

Anyways, since wild prints are not sterile, they have to be cultured on some agar or brf paste. That way one could grow some mycellium along with whatever molds, then take a peice of mycellium farthest from the mold, sterlize it with a little H2O2, and innoculate more agar or brf paste, so as to isolate a good hardy rhizomorphic peice of mycellium to insure good fruiting (all done under a "clean box" or laminar flow hoodof course).

Like stated before, search around Shroomery and DroolDonkey. They are good sites.

I wonder if rxrgood4u ever did anything with those EQ's I sent him. I never hear from him anymore either.
