marijuana
I thought that this forum needed a topic one that we all like.
"Reefer makes darkies think they're as good as white men." - Harry J. Anslinger, Federal Bureau of Narcotics Chief, 1929 -
hmmmm, It's funny how such rasicm caused the laws on marijuana.
rasicm against blacks as well as mexican and spaniards who like marijuana.
2 men with marijuana convictions in canada are going to the supreme court to debate the issue that the marijuana laws are unconstitutional.
If they win that could leed to the legalization of marijuana here in canada and that would have a impact on the U.S. drug war.
All europian countries exept switzerlan and greece are changing there marijuana laws. Will the United States see that as our countries giving up and there for insparation to stay strong or are they going to follow in our steps and relize that in life you can't control everything.
expetially with that rebublican that found himself in a betty ford clinic for cocain use.

Re: marijuana
I think the reason why weed was made illegal was because the media (specially newspaper and magazine) tycoon William R. Hearst found out that hemp could be a paper substitute, and of course he found that threatning. He had a monopoly on the whole production process.

at that time in history waqsn't there already hemp paper production companies?
because the declaration of independance was originally written on hemp paper, or so I've read.
hemp can be used for hundreds of things though, same as marijuana.

No, it was the cotton producers in the southern united states that pushed for the illegelization of marijuana because they didn't want to compete with hemp.

Re: marijuana
well now a days everybody see's those comercials that are paid for by those major anti drug companies and they of course spotlight kids that smoked pot.
never a comercial where they show a layor smoking pot and the next day wins a court case.
because everybody that thinks it's so bad doesn't even learn about it they just say kills braincells, smells bad, makes you stupid, and kills people.
I went to a marijuana debate and the whole opposition knew nothing about marijuana they just sat there and listened to me prove all there claims wrong and now they will go home and asure themselves that it's really bad and wake up the next morning and pretend that they weren't proven wrong.

Re: marijuana
SMELLS BAD WTF ARE YOU SMOKING!!! heheh Yah nice call on the debate there man. There are some resonable arguements against it but tobacco is legal and there are more easy to find arguements against that than against Cannabis in my mind.
Oh and like all things Im sure there was a # of contributing factors that lead to illegalizing marijuana racism in my mind was a major factor though. Refeer madness served to demonize the "Devil Plant" in the minds of the gullible public who molds to the medias whims soo easily. After all we all still know that marijuana is "more addictive than Heroine".

Re: marijuana
ya and we all know "it makes you lazy and unable to do anything but lay video games"
"and it causes the use of heroin"
o.k. if it causes the use of heroin then why is there tens of millions of marijuana users in north america and not tens of millions of herion addicts?
but yes racism did play a big role because it was at around the same time that they made opium illeagal to make the chinese uneasy about moving here and cocain to stop black people because "it made them as strong as 10 police officers"
and they made marijuana illeagal to keep mexican from wanting to move into america hence the lazy mexican boracho or amotive syndrome.
the smells bad was just a arguement by the opposition but in my oppinion there is nothing better than the smeel of a dried bud or the smoke floating around a room.

Re: marijuana
Some ppl dont even know that marijuana is a plant. And that weed is the dried out buds of that plant is know to few people. This applies esp. of the US.
Thos anti-drug compains there dont work. Infact, they have a counter effect of what they are supposed to have. People think they are being "bad" and "so cool" when they smoke weed, cause "it's well know" that weed is a bad, evil & unhealthy drug. This creates a problem: People might not see any difference (healt & risk wise) between weed and hard drugs. Example: The only difference between normal weed and PCP-dipped weed, is that the PCP-weed gets you more wasted. (!) On other words: people that start off doing weed, have a big change of trying out/doing hard-drugs at a later stage.
The right way to handle the situation is to educate people about drugs. Educate, not impose propaganda! Educate what the effect for different drugs are (bad & good), what the dangers are, how addictive each drug is, etc. (Alcohol, cigarets and gambling should be included in the list aswel.) I do understand the reasons for all the propaganda. I know those people are trying to do the best they can for their nation. These people dont understand however that they are making things worse.
Lucky weed is getting legalized more and more european countries, and i hope the stuborn US govt. will observe and learn. But i fear, as the US of A is the best, most developed, most hard-working place in the world, that it has nothing to learn from some stupid euro-logic. isnt that right lokil?
see more arguments about why weed should be legalized in the discussion between lokil and me in the topic: 'yummy weed recipes'

Well I know for a fact that studies have shown that the GREAT AND ALL KNOWING D.A.R.E. program may at best slightly reduce drug use in major cities but in suburbia and small towns drug use SKY ROCKETS since b4 the program kids didnt really know wtf Meth was and shit like that. And since its D.A.R.E. an anti drug program no one dares, no pun intended, to try to challenge it and point out that its hurting thier cause more than anything. Re: marijuana
hemp could help sociaty so much.
when I was at that marijuana debate every time i made astatement that proved the oppostion wrong the woman from the drug abuse center agreed with me and told me I was right and said she knew and she read the smae studies and that I was very smart and well educated.
well I bet if I said "if you know that marijuana has low potential for abuse and can help sociaty then shy are you against it?"
and I would be my soul she would have replied "I know it can help sociaty but it's bad"
"why is it so bad?"
"because my parents told me it was bad, and those drug pamphlets say it's bad, the goverment says it's bad (and they don't make laws for no good reason ya know)."
I hate that woman because she has revewed the same info as me but yet she won't help the cause instead she helps the problem so she won't be veiwed as an outcast of some kind and frowned upon by majority of sociaty.
marijuana use is hardly frowned upon anymore because everyone knows somebody who smokes it or that was helped by using it medicinally.

Re: marijuana
Greetings. I want to send a big thumbs up to Raverz choice! There should be more people like him, because that's what our human world needs: people who are active on the side of marijuana. Everywhere in the world where there's a drug-info or debate or anything, the people who speak never tried anything, and mostly don't know anything. Big shame! I have been to places where you can reach info on drugs, debates, everything, here in Europe, and I am surprised on how small amount of people know about drugs. And they call themselves "experts"??? What the fuck?
But I want to say it here, that our world is going to change very very much. You people definitely now this. Us, the new generation should make a change in this stupid, lazy, zombie nation. And we will. People like Raverz choice, me and all those who love drugs, and KNOW about drugs, and want to help people, basically. I belive, if that woman who R.C. is talking about would smoke some from a huge bong would understand.
Of course, she will not smoke any. But soon, these people will die, simply because of age, and their sad, empty lives. Then, we will be in power. So all I can say: patience. And don't forget about our good old friend, Buddha: Silence is sometimes a very strong weapon.
Peace.

thanks but, please don't put me in the spotlight.
we will achieve nothing if we sit by and wait.
they will die and there children will inherit the earth.
so we have to inherit the earht, I wan't to open up a hempshop. I have already started making plans, picked out a building, started saving.
a few friends whant to help, after i had the hemp shop for a year or two or whenever it was a solid bussiness and could support itself without me worring I would look in to running for the marijuana party here in canada I would try to make my riding here in the same place I grew up and everything.
I would then have to trust my store in the possesion of my friends if I did make a spot in the election, but thats all years ahead of me, so now i will stuby, plan, and save and one day I'll help out.

Re: marijuana
I think, just to humor them, they could sell it in supermarkets behind the counter where the booze and cigarettes are, but you cant be 18 to purchase it, like with cigarettes. I think they should sell it for 21 year olds, as a compromise. Do you understand what I'm saying? I cant really think of a way to put my thoughts into words very well on this one. Like, if they ever did sell it in stores, it would have to be like 5 bucks a joint, and you have to be 21 to buy it. This way they dont get really pissed, and it might actually happen. If you understand what I'm saying, nod.

So sad I just heard that my dads company just had to fire thier top guy because of testing positive for marijuana usage. This makes me sick I hate drugtesting I suppose this firing was more reasonable than some since the guy was high @ work but whats the deal with jobs that monitor what you do on say friday night not effecting your working performance none! I guess this guy actually had higher ratings than anyone else ever tested in the history of the testing facility and the guys were given 3months warning but Its not fair when will this damn country learn I feel bad for the guy he went from the best driver there earning $80,000 a year got a wife and a newborn and a brand new house to an outof work bum who lost his liscense so he cant get a job in his previouse profession this pisses me off!

Re: marijuana
people should be hired because they can do the job better than anyone else not because of the fact the smoke marijuana instead of drinking alcohol.
compaies would rather have somebody come in to work with a hangover feeling shitty getting no work done, than have a guy who had a few bong hits the night before come in feel like he had just had the best sleep in his life because he fell asleep stoned and accomplish a lot of work requiring no headache pills and no sick leave.
I see what you are saying with the compramize but thats bullshit, If it is going to be legal then it should be fairly legalized.
you pay 5 dollars a joint now I have even payed less, isn't lots of the point of legalization about making it so the low prices allow people to get there marijuana for a fraction of the soct dope dealers sell to put dope deals out of bussiness?
the goverment has such strong oppinions on this and they no nothing about it and you are right, the would make the age 21 and charge more because they would have to feel like they won, in some way or another.

ok its one thing to legalize possesion and shit which happens to already be legal in 10 states within less than an ounce. its a whole other thing to sell it at stores like alcohol. that is fuckin gay. then you have stupid poseur, wanna be kids trying to be "cool" just like smoking cigarettes is in like 6th grade, poised outside a store asking every potential x-con to buy them a joint. shit, ill stick to the black market, plus i like having this "authority" being part of the marajuana circuit. hell, if i wanna cut some young kid into my smoke up circle i can charge money if i want. i think ill stick to the black market.
if you really want sell something to a 21 and over group why not a more concentrated thing like hash, hash oil, or even some kinda pharm like marinol? i'd like to try that stuff.

Re: marijuana
Matius, here in holland they actualy wanted to do that. sell weed in a supermarket next to the cigarettes that is. But it didnt go through cause it would be to easy for people to get weed. raverz_choice, legal weed is not that much, if not at all cheaper than illegal weed (homegrown). You even pay less for homegrown weed some times, but this is if it isnt professionally grow and thus hasnt got top quality. slpwlkr333, i agree to what you have to say about "super market weed", but theres an other way of doing this. Here in holland we have coffeeshops. Its only at theses places where weed is sold. you need to be 18 to get in. inside there are 2 bars. one for weed and one for drinks. You can chill in these places and smoke all the weed you want. quote:
shit, ill stick to the black market, plus i like having this "authority" being part of the marijuana circuit. hell, if i wanna cut some young kid into my smoke up circle i can charge money if i want. i think ill stick to the black market.
man its people like you that give weed a bad name and make people believe its bad. In fact, you treat it as if its bad as well. ps: quote:
if you really want sell something to a 21 and over group why not a more concentrated thing like hash, hash oil...
Uhh, i dont know what your definition of a joint is, but mine is that it can contain all of these things. My point, where did you get the idea that a join is weed-only? and weed can be better than hash to. all depends on quality.

slpwlkr333, a lot of your posts that I have read are pretty stupid and uninformed and not thought out at all, like saying a ounze of salvia costed 200-300 bucks when it's like 30 - 70.

Umm I dont know why everyone thinks that making weed legal will allow kids to get thier hands on it sooo easily! I can score a few ounces of weed in mabye 3-4 hours takes longer than that to find a potential buyer for booze alotta times so how making weed legal will allow kidz to get thier hands on it easier is beyond me.

The price of a joint shouldn't be the only argument for legelization, you should also think of quality. Most health problems that result from smoking pot come from the shit dealers mix into the pot like PCP and stuff. If a government agency like the ATF started to reglement pot, you would be sure that youjre smoking good quality pot that nobody has fucked with.

o.k. you never said it was extract, you never said you could be wrong and yes you did say about $200.
I thank you for your links but you just typed in salvia and took the first sites that cama long, I have been to lyceaum and I erowid is my faveriote informational site you didn't even know these sites you just took whatever looked like it had info on it or what you knew had info because it's common knowledge sites like lyceaum and erowid have drug info.
I never overexagerated and it really doesn't matter. I think you should put some more thought into your posts and I would talk more to you but I would rather address student_zer0's quistion.
student_zero: If you look at seed companies they charge around and upwards from 4 dollars a seed. it is usually for seeds to be sold friend to friend for much less than that if not for free.
If you have friends that grow maybe it is a good idea to talk to them and get growing info. If they have grown for more than 4 years and have had at least 2 successful harvests then they might have some really good advice. but you also must consider that they are lieing, they might not want you to have a succesful harvest out of fear of you stealing there bussiness if they sell marijuana.
your growing friend might not really grow and just says that to impress people. if you are going to listen to a frioend on growing advise then when he tells you something ask other friends and gardeners as well as search the internet at many different sites to see if what he says makes sense or if he is just telling you bullshit to impress you and later when your sprouts die say "you must have did something wrong".
I ordered some seeds from the marc emery seed co but if you live in the states yo should not order from them because since seeds are illeagal in the states they refuse to sell anything but sterilized seeds there (seeds that won't grow to full maturity).
a good friend could have wonderful seeds to give away and that is a great place to get them but if all else fails and you need to order over the net then research well because many companies might not sell to wherever your from.

But you know what? In my opion it is cooler if weed would be illigal. Smoking some illigal shit gives you a much "cooler" feeling. It remind my of the good old days when i used to come home totaly stoned, being really careful that my mom didnt notice that i smoked up. Or the times sneaking out in the garden and smoke a fat ass splif that i had just rolled in my room with the door closed. The stoned i got felt way nicer! I also digged smoking up in some alley and running from the cops when i was smoking abrought. And shit, legal or not, i grow my own shit anyways, so i dont giva fuck about prices & dealers etc. You guys should consider yourself lucky that weed is considered a bad thing. Only to bad for the people that get fired from work cause they get tested positive for drugs

well about the marijuana issue, and I am sorry if you totse-ites have already discussed this over and over.
