Re: Prostitution
it causes social decay which affects good moral human beings
Thats what it boils down to.
But then again somebody who believes in prohibition would probably be able to explain it better.

But who is the state to determine what is moral or not? I see nothign wrong with it, as long as they whores pay their taxes (which is the other problem with it besides morals)

Re: Prostitution
Prohibiting prostitution to protect all the "good moral people" is really funny, since most of a prostitute's customers ARE "good moral" guys........guys who have a family, kids, station wagon, dog, cat, office job every day, and who go in their SUV to church every Sunday with thier perfect family--wife and kids, etc., etc.. Prostituion has nothing at all to do with "morality". It has everything to do with economics. I think no HS girl sits down with her counselor and looks over the list of occupations she might want to do, and says "Wow....I want to be that one---a prostitute!!". Instead, she ends up that way when she gets a $3 dollar a day (in my country) job at a McDonalds when she is 16, and works 12 hours a day under a boss who makes it clear her job depends on some extra favors to him. But she quickly dicovers that guys will gladly give her 100 dollars for a couple of hours of her time---which (in one hour)is as much as she will make working 12 hours a day for a month at McDs......and--best of all--after working just 2 hours she can go to the beach and have fun......OR she can take on as many more guys as she wants, and even get rich!!! Well, which occupation do you think that girl is going to chose......McDs or dating guys? Easy choice for her, huh? Love, Venus.

Re: Prostitution
Ive got a friend with an idea for legalized, government regulated prostitution. Why? Don't ask me. I think it has something to do with holding a marrige together even if your spouse turns fat and/or ugly.

Re: Prostitution
Most of the reasons for which prostitution has been illegal in many cultures for centuries- moral and health issues- don't apply as much now. I wouldn't mind seeing it legalized, since some girls wouldn't mind going the route pinay described if it weren't on the shady side of life, and they should have the option, but it's not happening widespread anytime soon. America has Las Vegas- you want legal hookers, go there.
Besides, most areas have strip clubs, which allow a girl to make money off her sexuality and take it as far as she wants to go- most can make decent to major cash without taking it back to a hotel, ever. The ones who can't probably should be finding another line of work, quick.

Re: Prostitution
This wont add much to the thread, but i think that media gives prostitution a very bad image. Slagging of the women when really it is the hign paid T.V men shagging the women. And also i now look at it completely differently after pinays words.

The goverment owns the largest prostitution ring already. I think its in montana, and I'm pretty sure its called "Mustang Ranch". Long story short, when the gov't found out how much money they were making (It was close to $5,000 an hour. Per prostitute) they basically siezed the "business". I think the high prices were because they were "Quality Ho's" :P I'm not sure if this ranch still exists...

Wrong, its against our set values in general. This isn't a christian nation, just has a christian majority.

Re: Prostitution
Where did all you Churchies come from? Hey, Churchies....did you read my post? Prostitution has nothing to do with religion or "values". It has to do with ECONOMICS!! And I hate to bust your bubbles, but you can find almost all the guys who saw a prostitute on Saturday night, in church with their family on Sunday morning. (hee hee)! I agree, it's not a beautiful sight......but it's REAL LIFE!! So you should accept reality and get over it!! Love, Venus.

Of course not. They just have to keep their religion SEPARATE from their politics and governing functions (like Pkrometheus says), and don't push it off on others. Love, Venus.

Re: Prostitution
The illegality of any victimless crime (vice) is typically justified on the grounds of public safety though the real underlying reason is typically of moral sensitivity. Governments support victimless crime laws because it creates leverage against a populace. It's not hard to find a reason to lean on a citizen if you make something any citizen is liable to do illegal. Organized crime actually supports prudish law making because every illegal service they can provide makes them money. Prohibition was a windfall for both the government and the organized crime because it gave both of them opportunities. Without Prohibition the FBI would have never been formed. A great many of the surveillance precedents and erosions of right to privacy.
Sex for money is such an easy thing to keep illegal and too many people benefit from it having that status.
Lastly the government and organized crime have more in common than most people would like to admit. Organized crime needs a way to take the money they make illegally and get that money "on the books" of a legitamate business so that they can spend the money they make without giving the government a reason to bust them. Its called money laundering. Well the government has to find a way to do the reverse. As long as all the money at your disposal is "on the books" someone can force an ausit and demand accountability. If you have a way of generating money that is not subject to the legislative body they have no grounds to investigate your operations. This is called Iran/Contra. Drugs for weapons. The government likes common everyday practices to be illegal because then the government can generate capital outside of their liability to tax payers.

Our soon to be new govener in Michigan has stated that while she is firmly opposed to abortion personaly, she will not try to outlaw it because the oppositions to it are religous. That is how the system is supposed to work.

Re: Prostitution
More young women have dates for money than you think. Whether it be on the track getting pimped, at an Asian Massage Parlor, or through an escort service more and more young trim are getting paid the easy way... It might as well be legal... The ones that do it or want to do it... do it anyways:) It makes it sexier having sex outside the law...And those kinky lawmakers no this too:) That is what makes it fun.l. Doing some crystal meth or coke and bangin a hooker... Because if you are going to embrace sin you might as well bathe in it to the extreme...

Hi, Spirit: Sorry I woke you up!! (hee hee). It couldn't be ME who is "disturbing" you, 'cause I didn't give any "advice". I just EXPLAINED the GENESIS or ROOT CAUSE of prostitution. Anyway, now that you're awake, what's your opinion, and what is it that's biting you on this thread? Love, Venus.

Actually her posts were right on. You really do need to mind your own business, I'm telling you this as helpful advice, not to flame. However on another note if you hate the way the democratic world works so much why don't you move to Iraq? This isn't the first stupid post you've made. You are so full of shit your eyes are brown. You may not like it but things are the way they are and there is nothing you can do about it, it's called evolution. quote: Because if you are going to embrace sin you might as well bathe in it to the extreme...
Heh, nice. Edit: Quote tags. [This message has been edited by Aternimus (edited 12-17-2002).]

Re: Prostitution
Wouldn't prostitution be considered legal if it were videotaped? Then it could just be considered pornography and there is nothing illeagal about pornography(not in most states anyway)

Re: Prostitution
It is entirely useless to even bother arguing with people who think having their women available for rent is a valid and wonderful choice. None of you have even a semblance of a soul and no words, no matter how moving, will inspire you to do anything except retreat further into your caves of slobbish, debased savagery and primate weakness.
