Default To Bleed or not to bleed... that is the question!

Ok! How are ya?
I have a friend who thinks she knows EVERYTHING there is to know about pregnancy. Mainly because her mother is a nurse and her sister has has a couple kids at a young age, and for some reason she just knows a lot of pregnant people. Well... she says that you can have your period up to 7 months when you're pregnant. I say that is bullshit because then you could have a kid and 2 months later another one. Never happened... well unless they were twins... but that's odd. ANYWAY, who is right? I've also herd that women can still bleed, but it's not like having a period and also not for 7 months.

Don't confuse menstruation with egg release..

Yeah, you can bleed during pregnancy, but all you're doing is shedding cells..

You don't release eggs while pregnant.. that's the basic premise behind which most hormone based contraceptives work.. You can only get pregnant once, it's impossible for you to get pregnant again while you've already got a bun in the oven..

Wouldn't the shedding of the cells, especially in the first 1-2 months, rip the egg from the walls of the Uterus? Or is it not a complete "flush?"

I think it's more mild than that.. not sure, having never been pregnant..

How do we know so much?.. combination of listening, reading, and remembering most everything I ever hear..

I don't moderate this forum for nothin ya know..

during the first six weeks or so, a lot of women have spotting and bleeding, but you would know its not your period, its super light and easy to tell. bleeding ups your chances of premature babies though, and if you still are bleeding after like 12 weeks its really bad, like half the women miscarraige. and then it could always be like, an ectopic pregnancy, thats where like, the fetus is growing outside your euterus, like in the fallopian tube or some crap. so yeah, sorry your friends a retard

Awesome. I will have to print this and smack her on the forhead with the paper!

I agree that you can have some kind of bleeding, but I do not believe that it is as heavy and as regular (every 4 weeks) as a real period.
