Ahh, here it goes...
I met a girl at the library, no- she isn't the geeky type but she does like reading. Shes beautiful, in this...specified way. I think most guys probably wouldn't think she was hot but for some reason I do.
Anyway, she didn't talk to me, infact she wouldn't even look at me(or atleast not while I was looking at her).
She'd speak to the librarian and to my mom, my mom was talking to her about me, saying my birthday is soon and how I'll be 17 or whichever. The girl got really interested- or so it seemed, and shes like "really, his birthday is the day before halloween?" so they talked a bit about me and I didn't hear all of it, but for some reason she said nothing to me. She was very quiet, and it struck me that I was really attracted to her, but I have no idea as to how to approach her. Or whether I should or not.
Any ideas? I'm pretty shy myself but I do act- when I get the balls to do it.

"hit it off" ya that works hit it off...maybe youll hit it off and if you dont then shes just like some chick in porn, attractive but not meant for you...if you do then thats great...i really should heed my own advice

The question is, what the fuck do I say to her, and is there a clear way to tell as to whether she doesn't care at all for me or actually likes me?

i see- just like go up to her like you were looking for something and say hi, then maybe if you become friends find out what she likes and try to fit your personality to hers then you can move on to be more serious n shit, when you first go up to her make sure it doesnt seem planned...ive fucked up quite a few because it seemed so "planned"

Just go to her when she's reading and say "whatcha reading" and she if she reacts in an "interested in you" sorta way. Besides you have a foot in the door if your mother talked to her about you and she didn't run away screaming when she heard about you.
