People sabotage their own relation ships by lying, cheating, and starting fights. Then they want to kill themselves after the break-up. Its plain stupid. Why do people do it to themselves? My friends do it all the time and come crying to me. Its starting to piss me off. I would try to make them feel better, but now I feel like slapping them and telling them off.

they think that the truth is to hard to handle or something.
Well in my case im just retarded sometimes so I lie for no reason. Even about small things that dont matter.
I have no clue why though.

People lie to create a more ideal environment, cheat to make life easier and fight because that is the only option left.

What seems to you to be sabotage may truly be accidental. The person may not realize what they are doing or be ignorant of the consequences. So think of that when you feel like slapping them ... even so I agree with Spiffy, sometimes people do need to be slapped, get some sense knocked into them. No one who left you is worth dying for.

That question has, I imagine, as many answers as people who answer.

One reason is a variation on the 'Fear of Success� story.

A person has a good thing going and somehow, for some reason, deep down they feel that they don't really deserve it and so will do things to make the relationship fail - even though they may not be aware that they are doing so.

Or they could be of a pessimistic nature and will make things go wrong so that they can say 'See, I told you it wouldn't work'.

Of course, I could be wrong...

People are fucked up.

Well get yourself some new friends then if you're so sick and tired of your current ones. Maybe you can find new friends that aren't that fucked up.
