Oddly enough, BSK, you're not completely off. Not lately, at least. A couple of months ago, my ego got out of its box, and I'm just finishing duct taping the fucker back in. But this was going on way before that, so it's something else.

Maybe it's because I generally hate people. I don't know anyone that likes being hated.

Thanks to all for replies... the girl was not a stranger, but someone I met at school. I can't really blame her for fucking up the relationship - it was pretty fucked up to begin with.

How do you do celibacy? Just decide that for a specific period of time that you don't want to have sex, regardless. It's actually not as hard as it sounds.. get into the right mindset, and you might find you even enjoy it.. Spend the time just figuring out what you want or need.. believe me, you'll be healthier for it.

Celibacy is a lot easier than getting laid..

Here's an idea. If you want to try it, don't think of it as not getting laid- that leads to frustration, and since it sounds like you wouldn't have much problem finding someone to sleep with, you could very easily wind up falling off the celibate path. Think of it as taking a break from something you really haven't stopped doing for the last few years. If the idea of willful celibacy is baffling to you, then this will be a journey into the unknown, thus, a learning experience- that's good for you.

Besides, you can always masturbate.

pft, if you're going the whole way with celibacy, you should technically leave out the masturbation too.. it's actually easier that way, to just put sex out of your mind completely.. the frustration goes away much faster in my experience.

It has been my experience- that meaning, what I see in other people, for the most part- that the mental rejuvenation that can come from celibacy isn't from the lack of sexual activity, but from not having to deal with the drama that sex with other people can bring. There's nothing healthy about ignoring the itch if it comes- and if it does, for someone trying what you suggested, better to masturbate than "just do it one time". That could work out fine.. or, it might not.
