Children
I dont know why the Morals thread was closed. Knowing right and wrong is such a terrible idea to Wintermute, so envious of humans who are recognizably human. Anyway, my cousin asked:
"What is the single, most important lesson you would stress, more than any other, to either your son or daughter while raising them?"
A very valid question on this forum, since this forum deals with relationships, or can, and that would have everything to do with marriage and or child-rearing, and therefore, sex and affection. Jealous little cunt. To the, Think for yourself lesson people, thats pretty gay. Kids dont know how to think and youre already teaching them to think for themselves? Thats cheapening the lesson, trivializing and obscuring its wisdom, and in the end it is counter-productive.
------------------ "You force many to relearn about you: they charge it bitterly against you. You come close to them and yet passed by: that they will never forgive. You pass over and beyond them: but the higher you ascend, the smaller you appear to the eye of envy. But most of all, they hate those who fly." -Friedrich Nietzsche

Re: Children
The thread was moved to Spurious Generalities. Sex and Affection is about, to oversimplify, the physical (sex) and emotional/mental (affection) part of relationships between (usually) two people. Spurious is a better forum for this one.

Re: Children
Nah, the inevitable outcome and purpose of sexuality, children, and the relationships that bring them into this world are very relevant for this topic. But Wintermute hates the idea of parents who care.

Re: Children
That would be your opinion. What I said wasn't my opinion, it's the actual purpose of the forum. Raising children, despite being an end result of a sexual relationship, is a far cry from such relationships as a debate topic.
Krig never asked about what sexual morals someone would teach their kids, nor anything regarding sex at all, or love, romantic relationships, etc., and from the answers, it seems few people assumed that's what he meant, either. The thread is about a general subject. It fits better in the other forum.
If you still disagree, well, whatever. It's not really worth more debate than this. It's there, it's not coming back, and hell, you'll probably see more people chiming in than you would here.

Raising children is not intimately linked with sex and affection?

Not anymore, cousin.... it's hip to have lots of sex without being prepared for or considering the possibility of a family. bows head in remembrance of a time long forgotten, when intimacy was not considered a waste.

Re: Children
I emphasise the virtue in not being stubborn. Things change. Get over it and get on with it. It's easier to control your self than the circumstances you find yourself. Do what you can to affect the world but, don't try to make it what it isn't.
Sorry, I thought I was talking to my ten y/o for a minute there. Truth is though, I doubt he'd be silly enough to waste so much effort arguing such a spurious point.

Heard of the electric monk Defiant ? Try reading Douglas Adams "Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency". Take notes on the role of the monk. It shouldn't take you more then a couple of hours to read, its a fairly thin book. Basically, you believe in so much so strongly that we coupld probably represent you with a finite automaton. That is to say, you follow a set of rules absolutly, with no consept of change, evolution or growth fromt he discourse you partake in and the experiences life gives you. This is not worth while life. This is a waste. And if you now read the book, you'll see where the monk fits into all this. - Magician

Re: Children
If a man loves something, why would he respect sitting by and watching it decay? That was a sorry attempt at a personal attack. Obviously, being an advocate of EVOLVING, I have a good grasp of what it means to change. But by Change you obviously mean, change the way you approve of, so you wrote all that dumb shit. These trite conditioned replies are getting tiring.

That figures - see who has kids, and then make friends with them. Still, at what age do we cease to be children? my ew2 is 35 going on 12 - she is an absolute kid most of the time, so I must be one, too. ------------------ Souvent femme varie, bein fol est qui s'y fie

Perhaps in criticizing me or my cousin, you could pull a less shallow and shameful attempt at an insult from your putrid cave of a rectum and recognize questions and discussions of said questions for what they are, and cease to make some laughable attempt at questionable sexuality, perhaps in an attempt to draw attention away from your own compromised sexual orientation. quote: Originally posted by eCHO: why breed at all? if you dotn you dont need this question

Re: Children
1. there are 6 billion people on the planet In 100 years, how many of those same 6 billion people will still be there? 2. buy fishCompare buying fish to having sex. See which one you'd REALLY rather do. 3. its called an ORGASM!!!No, the primary function of sex is procreation. The immediate result is an orgasm. 4. living with the personYou mean to tell me that if you have a wife (or husband, depending on which gender eCHO is), you would not have sex with them, but just live with them? You consider that the only plane of bonding? 5. sleep or rent a videoCompare sleep to having sex. Now compare renting a video to having sex. See which one you'd REALLY rather do. 6. its called foreplay! In foreplay, you squeeze, lick, massage, and talk dirty. There's not really much room for creativity. Besides... Compare foreplay to having sex. See which one you'd REALLY rather do. 7. its called masturbationCompare masturbation to sex. See which one you'd REALLY rather do. 8. see 3See 3 as well. My final question is this: Why are you choosing cowardice and rejection of instinct, which in truth advocates the annihilation of the human race, over fidelity, honor, and progress? You been fucking your Aunty again? Or is it polite to call most siblings 'cousin' in your world of in-breeding. I understand, if you call him brother one day and son the next it might get tricky. Good move, now all you have to do is remember to not imply that he is your offspring. Re: Children
Read the "Any other sibling couples here?" thread for an explanation. He's making an analogy between the creation of a child (procreation) and the directing of someone towards the reality of the world and its contrast with chivalry and respect (Defiant's relationship towards me).
You prick.

Re: Children
I know what you meant to say in context child. It was what you said per se, that I found humorous. I would like to say thanx for attempting to clear that up, however, the sarcasm is compounding to a point where I might implode. Not only did it not need clearing up to begin with but, in your attempt to do so you have only further confused things. Is the last sentence supposed to mean something, or even anything? Not to mention that now, you have legitimised my otherwise humorous observation and started a serious debate. Be it about your sexual habits, intelligence, identity and anything else I might observe in your ramblings. Halfwits should learn to say as little as possible with as few words as possible. You say very little but with too many words.

Re: Children
If there is one thing that I despise more than dehumanization, more than dishonor, more than cowardice, more than betrayal, more than deception, and more than ignorance in this world, it's someone such as yourself speaking to me as though I deserve to be addressed as "child."
I believe the extra confusion is, in fact, added by yourself, who took an aspect of my cousin's choice of words unrelated to the subject at hand, ridiculing it for no particular reason, with no true motive or clear goal, and then lecture me about my use of sarcasm.
Your not-so-humorous observation has spurred a quarrel, not a serious debate. A debate has two opposite sides and a purpose. And I prefer to use a fair amount of words to avoid confusion and explain my thoughts in detail. And I say what needs to be said, in however many words that may take. I refuse to apologize because they mean little to you.

Re: Children
do you guys actually write your own lines or do you have a script writer ?
Defiant, my comment above was nto a personal attack you tried deflecting it with rambling as you never actually got the point I was making.
My point was that nothing any one ever says here seems to make any difference to your own opinions. You come in saying 1+1=6 and try justify it, we all get invovled in a bit debate. Everyone follows all the arguments and sees that 1+1 is actually 2... and you leave saying 1+1=6, by which point every one is so fed up with it that they just stop replying. All the fact have been laid out and if you;re not going to look at them... there's not much else reasonable people can do but walk away.
This was my point. Interesting ramblings above by the way. Are you sure you and coursin are not closer then you make out ? Maybe even so close that you can read each others minds ? And share thoughts, and arms, and legs and... (you get the point).
