Only you could reduce a masterpiece to a feeble bi-polar observation. The point of the book is not that increased sexual freedom entails political servitude. These two things are juxtaposed in order to highlight the fact that freedom to pursue the pleasurable alone will not suffice. It is not an either/or all or nothing proposition. And yes if we are going to also pursue political freedom then we are going to have to allow room for the defiant "savage" who needs his simple boundaries and limitations. Political servitude entails a loss of individuality regardless of whether you combine it with sexual freedom.

And, as the nature of HIV is such that can take a long time to find out you're infected if you do have it, it's difficult to believe any such study if it does exist, because it's going to be missing a LOT of people.
