Default Snowmobiler's

Well another snowmobile season is here in the Upper Peninsula and the element of the rude know-it-all flatlanders have been besieged upon us.

I understand this is some peoples vacation time and what better time to cut loose and have some fun but when its at the mercy of the locals, their homes and property and the local establishments and thats when they show their true colors.

Year after year I see these flatlander idiots rape the environment by littering the wilderness and trail system with their Yama-lube oilcans, beer cans and fast food trash waste. Disobeying the Tread Lightly policy by riding simply wherever they so choose. They stay at local Hotels and Motels trashing rooms and disturbing other guest whom may be snowmobile riders as well but with their familys trying to have a good time as well but not at the inconsideration or expense of others.

Most fit the demographic group of males between the ages of 20-40 and half Id say are married but come here looking to hook-up and honestly its the one of the mast favorite times of the year for the local skanky snow cows who think these guys are going to ride off into the snowy sunset with them and take them away from Newberry (quite frankly I wish they would) but when they come into a bar and see that your obviously with your wife, girlfriend or significant other and still try to hit on them is just being an asshole and looking for trouble. Last year my friends wife was grabbed by the ass out on the dance floor and soon after a fight entailed where later the group of sledders were thrown out of the bar and while saddling up to leave my buddy drove his H2 right over the front ends of six of their eight snowmobiles. He did a nice job of disabling their sleds. He was unfortunately charged with intent to commit gross bodily harm and damages but the charges of bodily harm was dropped (it helps to hunt & fish with the local prosecutor) but had to pay for damages which was a pittance compared to the satisfaction he got from doing this.

I guess my satisfaction will come latter this season when several of their drunk asss smash into a tree, hit one another head-on and kill themselves, fall threw some ice on a lake and drown, get arrested, come to one of few small isolated stores that sell gas and bitch about the price, ask for directions but then seem to know it all and then when its 4:00 am knock on the door of these little isolated places and ask to get enough gas to get into town and are told NO! or blow-up their sleds racing etc

The whole point is to this entire story is why is there such a bravado attitude and testosterone induced mentality to snowmobile riding?

My wife and I buy a new pair of snowmobiles every year and when I ride with my buddies and go to a small town or anywhere for that matter we dont think we know it all or act like idiots and behave poorly in bars and restaurants so why do out-of-towners?

By the way the most of the Upper Peninsula has NO SNOW! The Mackinaw Bridge is closed!
Stay down state and sled in Traverse City or the Cadillac area, I hear Gaylord is right in the snow-belt and have good trails and besides me and my friends have decided this year that when the first good snow hits were knocking every single trail marking post sign down and well be sure to send your frozen remains home in the Spring

I've found some two tracks, sled trails snow covered by snow drifts and some ice on small inland lakes in the deep woods in May...

If someone were to say for example become a "The Snow-Sled Sniper" along the isolated trails you could get away with it easy.

Thousands of miles of trails, isolated deep woods, so few law enforcement of any kind even if they called in Feds to assist to cover such a vast area, tons of same like makes of sleds and outerware, masked by helmets and sleds that go up to a hundred miles an hour.

Hmmm?

I hate those damn snowmobilers also, just string some wire between two trees on a path you know they take and watch them damn near decapitate themselves!

we have lots of sledders here, but its mostly locals that go barhopping. nothing too serious. its cool that theres a trail on hwy2 that leads all the way from williston to minot (if you know where that is) and its a lot faster goin on sled to minot than it is with a car. i ride 4wheeler myself, cause you can ride them all year round an im using it right now to make money plowing snow. its a fun job

I did a little research and I am just as guilty about raping the environment and found that toys for big boys contribute to allot of air pollution

A portion of an article by Traci Watson of USA Today
Now the Environmental Protection Agency is getting ready to restrict air pollution from just about everything else that moves and has an engine, including recreational vehicles that are the favorite playthings for millions of Americans.
Last month, the EPA quietly announced that it is planning to crack down on emissions from a diverse group of so-called mobile sources, including snowmobiles, dirt bikes, all-terrain vehicles, many pleasure boats and gas-powered industrial vehicles such as forklifts. The agency is also mulling new restrictions on motorcycles.
New rules are likely to require pollution-control equipment on these vehicles. To pay for the extra technology, manufacturers would probably raise sticker prices. And changes to make engines cleaner could affect vehicle performance.

From MSNNews

It is a rest time for the park or at least it was before the onslaught of the snowmobiles,

Amen!

There are so many other areas to sled in why State and National parks? Why across my property and many others? Why down main street? Because they can't or choose not to read a map because they "Just have to get where they are going because they are so much more important"

Waa waa waa waa!!! Ahhh! Fuck it!

We get those downstate too. It's realy funny when these assholes try to ride across a lake that is less than half frozen. They either end up stranded in the middle or their sled goes for a swim. We aren't usualy lucky enough to remove the rider from the gene pool though.

Here's a snowsledder update:
One man Saturday evening was killed when according to Michigan State Police was traveling at speeds in excess of 80 miles per hour then struck a tree and exploded. His blood alcohol level far exceeded his IQ and three times the legal limit.

There have been several arrest for drunk and disorderly, drunk driving on and off snowsleds and for property damage two of which I assisted on after my in-laws made several futile attempts in contacting the Village Police because snowsledders found it difficult to drive 20 or less feet to the trails end but instead cut several yards into and onto their property leaving a mud rut due to the warmer weather and light rain AND persistent snowsledders who'd be dammed "If their not going to get in their riding this weekend" and I drove around until I found the Village Police who saw for himself as we approached the residence two morons just beginning to cut across the property until he and I put our vehicles in front of the trolls who looked very annoyed at the disruption of their little ride.

The local search and rescue have been on several outings because the wife's and or girls friends have called saying they didn't call when they were suppose to only to be found in a bar in the arms of one of the local snowcows drunk.
There have been a few idiots actually lost or who ran out of gas and were presumed lost.

And as always there have been at least 6 who drove across partially frozen lakes and fell through. (It's called a SKI-DOO not a SEA-DOO dipshit)

The death rate is sure to climb and I'll have a riot asking sledders "How's the trails?" and giving them false "Where's the snow?" reports.

I wish the next terrorist attack is on the Mackinaw Bridge when of course on one's on it, well maybe with a few sledders on it when their heading SOUTH!!!!!

I used to ski up at this place where it was pretty much open to everyone except on the actual lifts (Rope lifts ). That meant that on the way to the parking lot, or just when your not on the slope, you constantly were having near misses with those snowfucks.

And another one bites the dust because two dumb fucks were playing like they were snow cross champs and one went over a large jump and fell off then his buddy came over landing on top of him.

Can you say connect the dots? (Marks left on body from studs put on snowsled tracks for better traction)...

A friend of mine who works for the Mackinaw Bridge Authority said the traffic from sledders leaving the Upper Peninsula was so great it was backed up from the bridge back up into the exit ramps and into St.Ignace for five hours and due to the high winds the bridge authority had to escort the larger vehicle's with trailers a few at a time...
