Default help out a lost soul. . . .

Does anyone have any strong opinions of what religion is the most fulfilling? My friends and family all have different ideas, with nothing to back up their beliefs except for the "holy book" of that partcular religion, which could well have been written by some twit in a desert...anyone have any good infor to tell me? (And don't reply with "We have a RELIGION section for that post...."

Thanks, muswik_lost

Would you consider making one up as a way to find my own religion? Or do you vouch for the beleif that there are too many as there is, and I'd robably be doubling one if I did such a thing as make one up? What do you suggest?

Yes, you must explore. Belief in what makes sense to you, what you can defend. And never be afraid to change.

Major religions today need to be seen as a foundation of beliefs on which you can build and develop your own personal beliefs. Face it, no two people will believe in exactly the same thing and worship in exactly the same way. So therefore, your beliefs are going to be 'personalized'.

I'm not an athiest and I'm not christian, but I still think it would kick ass to be a rastafarian down in jamaica. I saw this thing on PBS one time about these rastas that lived in a tiny shed surrounded by pot. All they did was read their Bible and take care of their pot. And even though they lived in such horrible poverty, every single one of them had a smile on their face. That's the way to live, man.

Why do you need a religion? You can be theist and just believe in God without all the superfluous junk.

If they allow you to throw this here, what would be the point of having any specialized forums?

The only true religion is science. Think about it... the people who wrote the bible thought god was talkig to them. If you do that nowadays they lock you up in the looney bin. There should be a worldwide ban on all religions. Afterall, religion has been used to kill more people than any physical weapon. People can justify just about anything as long as their god says its ok. like all those muslim suicide bombers. Seriously, do you really NEED a religion? Without it we would likely have a much different system of moral beliefs, but I think these mass delusions of a higher power are only holding us down.

Wars are caused by politics. Politics rule organized religons. The bible, koran, etc... preach that you should live in peace. The politicans just choose to ignore that part when it's not convenient.

I personaly am a fan of the pagan relegons, Wicca in particular.
