Default Steal This Album

So The New System Of A Down Cd has this anti burning protection on it. Its called Digital Rights Managment or something. It doesn't let you change the format of the files either. So you can't burn them. Anyone have any ideas?

1. like thesellout said, analong recording.stick it in a cd player, play it, record it through your sound card. (you could use goldwave. www.goldwave.com)

2.There will eventually be software decoders to defeat this 'white noise' or whatever they do. wait. the time will come. If dante graves is telling the truth, then find the mp3s on the net, compile them into a cd and burn many copies of that.

I just went and checked, and it plays fine. I've got a Sony Vaio(about 2 years old), and it has Adaptec Easy CD Creator 4. is your system old? I haven't added, or changed anything.

why cant you use BlindRead or CloneCD ?? theyve always worked for me in the past.. I dont see why DRM would prevent you from making a bit for bit mirror image...

but if that doesnt work kazaa or analog should be fine...

i'm not too concerned about that considering that artists only make about 7% of there income from recordings and that is on the high side. if they are unknown then i buy the cd (mainly cuz i cant find the stuff online) :P

Steal this book, Steal this movie, and now Steal this album. You would have thought it would have been the soundtrack to the movie, yet System of a down did it instead? I wonder why.

I prefer SoundForge myself, http://www.sonicfoundry.com/

I've found that Goldwave adds too much hard-drive noise to recordings.

I'd use WaveLab for analogue recording. If you use this, then you have to record every song for itself, but you have built in stuff like a punsher, a peak limiter and lots of crap like this.
System of a Down are way to famous, they get like 50.000$ a show + 50% of The ticket income + sold t-shirts n stuff, so dont mind burning the cd. But dont burn cd's of not so famous artists, cuz they live off it.

Quite often "not so famous artists" have free music. Quite alot of my favourite techno and industrial groups are amatures and their music is 100% free. Sometimes you can download it, but most of the time if you find a contact number then you can phone them and ask them to send you a CD or (funnily enough) often they put their music on vinyl. I've always prefered vinyl to cd anyway but with bands like Exile, Gratch and Skeeter only putting their music on lps its like being a kid again.
