Default Ip Question

on the better living through chemistry i thought it would be funny since everyone was so serious a few random, bizarre question just to see how people responf. Then one guy said he notified my Ip or something, and i was screwed
heres exactly what he said
enjoy your bullshit game while you can, fucktard. your ip just got reported. what are mommy and daddy gonna think when your ISP notifies them of what you do, and they read this board and find out you do drugs, oh the horror. you see where it says IP: Logged, yeah, that means youre fucked.

even though this isnt your forum's specialty can someone comment if this is a realistic threat, even though what i said was not offensive at all. actually i asked if they had ever seen the movie casino.

i do not belive this is a realistic threat, but then i haven't been here awhile. You have to be a mod or admin before you can veiw the ip's anyway and ISP probably doesn't give a fuck what you were doing on the net anyway, aslong as you payed for it.
You did pay for it didn't you?

Bribble13 is correct. This is not a valid statement. This is someone with a low IQ that just heard limited info on IP addresses and decided he could use it as a threat. What he said he was going to do cannot be accomplished by logging it anyway. Doing so would violate their <the ISP's> own contract. If you could give me something like a screen name for aim I can reduce his gaming machine to mere c64 computer? The reason I do this is because he is a jackass pretending to know something about computers which offends me.

Let me give you a little more insight into the ignorance of this person.

First off most ISP's use Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol(DHCP) which means that the IP number that was logged will only exist untill you restart the computer. If you are still paranoid and are using a windows PC then you can go into DOS and type ipconfig /release then ipconfig /renew

ISP log IP numbers with accounts, they'll be able to tell who-used-what IP...usually.

actually, youre all morons. cuz the person with the 'low IQ ' youre referring to is me. and see where it says 'moderator' over there <--- ? yeah, that means i can see his IP when he spams my forum. the little fuck spammed my forum with 10 bullshit messages twice this week, im allowed to have some fun and scare him a little. obviously it fucking worked. and if i did want to report his IP, his ISP could easily identify who was using it at that time. and his IP isnt dynamic, cuz its the same from last week when he spammed my forum. well, it could still be, but it hasnt changed in a week. either way, i was just tryin to have a little fun with the retarted little fuckstick, and it seems to have worked if he postin here all scared and shit. im lauging my ass off right now, thinkin about how badly he wants to come back in and read the posts here, but he cant.

bluntman newbie fucktard: youre a dumb fuckin newbie talkin about reducing my computer to a c64. fuck around like that and you can find yourself in the same place as Nick63885; which isnt here. piss off, wanker.

Yes, Nick spammed the BLTC board.

I forgot to delete his account, so now that's done.

Also, if you think that your ISP can't tell what you did and when, think again. And having a dynamic IP won't help. If they get a court order for that information, they will cough it up right away.
