Re: what makes a car street illigal
I think some cars are made street illegal because they're capable of going faster that cop cars. At least thats what someone told me.

Re: what makes a car street illigal
I can drive a Dodge Vipe down the street all day long if I like, and I can also assure you that if it where to go up agaisnt a cop car, the cop would'nt have an ice cubes chance in hell!
I dont know for sure, but I'de think if the vehicle is drastically lowered it owuld not be street legal. Simply because a lowered vehicle is lowered because Ide imagine, it is capable of speeds that would/could cause the car if at regular hieghts, to catch air and flip out. This kinda shows that the car is capable of some serious CONSISTANT speed. [i say consistant, because a racing vehicle would not be qequiped with something like N20 to go as fast as it goes. N20 if you dont know [but im sure you do] speeds up cumbustion rate if I remember correctly, causing a drastic speed burst, but only for short periods of time before killing the engine]

Re: what makes a car street illigal
Roll cages, nitrous, and extreme top speeds are all legal. Note that I only know the rules in the States.
Slicks aren't street legal, you've gotta have tread. Bumpers are required in most states. Glass can only be tinted to a certain degree, although this is rarely enforced. You have to have a muffler and any emissions devices (catalytic converter, etc.) your vehicle originally had. You have to have two white headlights, and at least one red tail light. You must have seatbelts, if the vehicle came with them.
Those are some of the more obvious ones. Feel free to lower your car as much as you'd like, but don't cry when you nuke your aero package on a speedbump.
