Re: Oh Canada! (Canadians, come here)
ya i was hoping you wouldnt say quebec. ok that 83% of the country speaks french, and i just want english ok? no offense to ya quebecians. how about montreal? its right nesr Detriot so i can go back and forth to the US like that. or Vancouver? suggestions people...
P.S. One reason why i rally dont want quebec is because people are trying to make quebec its own country. it alomst happened a few years ago. they lost by about 2% of votes. and if they were their own country theyed have french as official launguage and prob try to take english out Just my thoughts..

Re: Oh Canada! (Canadians, come here)
French is not the birth-language of %83 of Canadians, maybe %83 of Canadians speak some french, but I think you have been misled by a statistic. French is primarily spoken by Quebequois, and Acadian Canadians, so long as you move to somewhere west of the Ontario/Quebec border you will be in English speaking Canada, unless you move to Vancouver of course, but that is a different story. I reccomend Alberta, you will find a job almost immediately, and the people are quite friendly. Good luck.

Re: Oh Canada! (Canadians, come here)
If you live in Detroit, you can try windsor (right across the border), Hamilton (further away, steel town), or Toronto (furthest away). I'd personally choose Hamilton, but then again, I'm biased against Toronto.

Re: Oh Canada! (Canadians, come here)
Quebec and New Brunswick are the most prominent french speaking provinces. Quebec is almost all french and most of the people in NB are fluently bilingual, but they usually begin a conversation in french first. Anywhere other than these two provinces is predominately english.

It really doesn't matter where you live in Canada. Just so long as you end each sentence with "Eh?" you'll be understood.

Re: Oh Canada! (Canadians, come here)
Like they said anywhere west of the province of Quebec speaks primarily english. What do you do for a living and how big a urban centre do you want to work in?

Re: Oh Canada! (Canadians, come here)
I think you should move to southern Ontario, near the border to Detroit, a town as LaSalle or Amherstburg would be good to live in, and you don't even have to know how to speak french!

lol... 83% speaking french? bullshit. it's actually the other way around. just go to any province other than Quebec, and you'll be fine! Vancouver is the best, although there are a few other great places to live. I go down to the Okanogon during Summer, and I hope to move to penticton at some point. great city, literally a desert, and all english.

no disrespect to you or quebec, but have you been to Beautiful BC? ... actually, all the provinces are beautiful. the plains of alberta and saskatchewan, the great mountains and lakes of BC, the coast of Newfoundland...

Re: Oh Canada! (Canadians, come here)
Canada has many many people who don't even know french. Quebec is the wrong place if you don't like whores- or people who speak just french. I'd say Toronto would be pretty cool.
