Re: astrology
Virgo
I am surprised how accurate astrology can be, actually. I'm not talking newspaper horoscopes here, but a reading from a natal chart can be spookily accurate.

Re: astrology
In my opinion newspaper horoscopes are not worth the paper they are printed on. As a result of these most people think that all there is to astrology is to know about your sign. Absolutely untrue. Sun-sign columns are most emphatically not real astrology. They rely on something called a solar chart which does not relate to you specifically but to 1/12 of the population. How can that have any validity?

Re: astrology
I am not convinced that star signs are so acurate. They seem to be so vague to a point where practically anything in the day can fit to it. ie "you will meet someone who seems to know you today with a name begining with "a"". I see at least 4 people in my day with a name begining with "a" who know me- its just so damn vague. By the way did anyone in the Good Ol' United Kingdom watch "Dave Gormans Important Astrological Experiment"?. He proved that following his horoscopes for 40 days made his life better. It did involve sticking a horn onto a horse and buying porno to read at a family meal though.

Re: astrology
i find chinese horoscopes r a bit more accurate, n my silly logic: cuz they'r based on year, i can imagine having things in common w/ ppl born the same year as me - we've been through sum of the same news worthy stuff, b/c of same age may have even more in common, but sometimes its fun to check out the regurlar horoscopes, i am leo,
n i am a lamb , according to chinese horoscope, check em out they'r way less vague.

Re: astrology
Im a leo and my chinese sign is the tiger. The horiscope is crap. Would millions of other leos be going through the same thing as me on any particular day? The chinese version is a whole different story. My mother has this really cool book that's really accurate. It even predicted that my dad would lose his job and it's accuracy was within a month or two. So if you want you could try getting one of those books but it's in chinese anyways so unless you can somehow read it then there's no point.

Re: astrology
if you have ANY faith in chinese horoscopes, just look at the people you graduated high school with. for the most part, you all were born in the same year, right? well, if you can't see the dramatic differences between the kid that won the spelling bee in second grade and the dude that sells you bud (unless of course, they were they same person, like myself, in which case you may compare any other two people in your high school class), then you probably didn't really meet that many people in your class. as for sun signs, they are equally full of shit. i was born in the same month as an ex girlfriend, and i'll be GOD DAMNED if i had ANYTHING in common with her.

Re: astrology
I am a Scorpio.
If I may, I would like to address the dissention in the ranks regarding the value of one's natal astrological chart.
As far as prediction is concerned, an astrological chart may provide a glimpse, but certainly not the whole picture. One's chart shows the pure energies and natural tendencies that are imparted to someone at birth, but a chart cannot rightly predict what the individual may choose to do with them.
I could give you the unlabelled astrological charts for my child, my cat, the United States, and my new business venture, and you wouldn't be able to tell which is which. So how could one discern the foreseeable future from that?
"Good" astrologers use a healthy dose of intuition when giving their readings, relying on both the spoken and unspoken information garnered from the client.
However, the most valuable application of one's astrological chart is for self-analysis and self-realization. The awareness of the energies available on any given day, coupled with knowledge of one's natural inclinations, can help avoid catastrophe or gain favor.
As well, natal astrology has a keen insight into early childhood experiences, particularly with one's parents. Upon delving into this a little deeper, one can grow to understand that all events occurring in his/her life were present for a higher purpose: to give clues to uncovering who s/he is, where s/he came from, and most importantly, where s/he may choose to go.

Re: astrology
Solar Gemini, Rising Virgo (both ruled by a retrograding mercury) Lunar Aquarian (with Uranus in the 3rd house of of Gemini within the sign of the Scorpion conjunct my IC)
I share the birthday of the Great SEal of America seperated by 199 years, right now the plane of Limitations and blocks is in retrograde at the degree of both the Symbol of America (and our currency) and me.
I expect The image (and financial situation) of america to be tested to the extremes, not because of astrology, that is only the messenger along with other methods of synchronisity, but rather the process meets halfway inbetween. Things happen because of the asttrologcial energies and the astrological energies occur because things are happening.

Re: astrology
i have a lot of books on astrology...i love it,it also got me into tarot which alot of ppl think is bogus, but i think it just scares the hell out of some ppl when they see how accurate it can be.as far as the Chinese Astrology, well I'm not real keen on that.dont" know where it comes from.and l;ike someone said earlier about the year thing...not all ppl the same age are the same.I also have another book which actually has the day and month.so you can see some aspects of the day youu were born not the year.my dad and i share the same B-day and im telling you how uncanny it is reading that book.
