I beleive you are reffering to the Gutenberg movable type press, invented circa 1450. However, the Chinese invented movable type around 1100,
I think. But, of course, movable type revolutionized Europe.

OO, I got one...

Don't know how right it is, but this is what my History teacher told me. But then again, she's a senile bitch so it's probably wrong.

Since it was easy to make Bibles with the Gutenburg press, people could read them for themselves instead of having to only hear the parts what the preists wanted them to hear. I think this eventually let to the Protestant religions?

I'm tired of this European stuff.

Now for some really important earth-shattering and history molding events...

Around 1450 (1454 to be exact), Nakagusuku castle was built. So there. And for all you pompous trivia mongers out there, this exceeding important technological marvel lasted in its utterly magnificent splendor until 1456 when it was reduced to rubble. And you thought you were so smart. Talk about a history lesson. Now wake up...quit yawning...pay attention...listen to me...this is important...What do you mean, you don't care?

Boris
It's funny you say that.. Because it seems that everytime my teacher said the printing press was spreading the Bible, she would say most people were illiterate five minutes later. Made me wonder how often she listened to herself
