Default Microsoft IntelliMouse

is it me or do M$ IntelliMice just fuck up after one year?
this has happened to me twice now, and also happened to a few friends.
i'm fairly sure the problem is located at the point where the cable connects to the front of the mouse [a loose connection or something]
i have stopped the problem for a while now using Blu Tak (y'know that stuff that you stick your posters up with), one of my friends does the same.

i was just wondering if this has happened to anyone else?

while we're on the subject of mice, can anyone recommend a good mouse, perferrably with a simular design to the IntelliMouse [i've gotten too used to it over the last couple of years].

I hear the Logitech MouseMan Optical is nice. I use a Wacom graphics tablet with included mouse - It seems to do the trick well enough.

I hadn't realized that it was a piece of hardware.

I've been using the software for it with any old 3 button mouse.
