Punishing you, whether for doing wrong, being stupid, or whatever, doesn't mean they hate you, it's for your own good, so you don't turn out a derelict. You should feel fortunate, some kids who turn out fucked up are the direct result of parents not punishing them. You'll thank them later in life.

My parents used to continually fuck me over to try and get to each other. I don't think they hate me, but they sure don't care enough to stop. Most people who are convinced their parents hate them are 12-year olds who just got punished for something though.

i would think punishment is a sign of love when done in a certain way...after it crosses a line its called abuse and then they hate you.

I get on with my parent really well. If i have been out all day or not seen them i go out of my way to go in early and sit with them and watch abit of TV and ask how there day was.

My parents are good people who have taught me so much.

Your screen name tells the story. The only way your parents could avoid the allegation of hated would be if they were clones of Taliban Johnny's parents and catered to your every whim. You have no desire to comply or conform with any standards and will therefore always feel that you are hated. The question is, Are you what/who is hated, or are your attitudes/actions what are hated?

At this point, my dislike of you is not personal, but attitudinal. Probably the same is true of your parents.

MY parents don't hate me but they make stupid ass rules. my parents make me go to sleep at 10:30 and im 15 fuckin years old also they hound me all the fucking time to do my homework. also my mom is a cheapskate she wont buy me any clothes unless they are on sale and the only things she buys for me are clothes and food everything else i have to pay for and i dont even get an allowance or anything. And every time we go to the mall she has something to exchange or return every time. once the department store had her on a suspicious list because she was returning so many things the reason i know is because my sister had friends that worked at the store. so next time you think you have it tough just think of me.

so you've got a mom who does her best to make sure you do well in school, tries to keep food on the table, and clothes on your back even though she probably doesn't make nearly enough money to do it?

a mom who sits up clipping coupons and worrying about you doing well in school, who can't afford to send you to college and wants you to do well in school so you can possibly get some sort of financial aid/scholarship so you can get a college degree and have a better life than she has.

Mate of mine, 'bout 13, maturity of an 18 year old, he's been caught shop lifting, he's been on suspision of house burgs, he's stolen cars, stolen from cars, rolled people for their wallets, pick pocketed and there'd be heaps of shit I don't know about. Well, you'd think, 'he's a bad lil fuck ain't he?' His mom, has a couple of mental illnesses because she was a speed-freak, and shes a drinker. Screwed up huh? She gets pissed, let's him run with his friends until 3-4am, knows not where he is, what he's doing, who he's with, if he's safe. She can't possibly give a fuck, she's too pissed. He comes home, if he's been in shit at school, done something to the neighbours or defended himself against the stupid bitch that was living with 'em, or if he's been in shit with the coppers, his mum would punish him, but she'd punish him when she was pissed, throw the poor little bugger against the walls, punch into him, have him by the throat, oh, it brings a tear to my eye. His parents spend most of the money on grog and the mother spends money on jeans, that she doesn't need. His mum doesn't beat him up when she's straight, no matter what he's done, this boy loves his mum, but when she's pissed, you can see the worry in his eyes, worried for his own safety. He loves his mum, but when she's pissed, it's a different story, and she's pissed every night. He loves his mum, but his mum doesn't love him enough to stop drinking. His mother doesn't neccessarily hate him, it's just that she doesn't love him enough to see what she's doing to him and his sisters.

Does this solve the fucking problem? All you bastards out there think you got it so bad, getting grounded, getting yelled at because your parents are concerned for you own well being, think yourself lucky, and just to think, there are worse out there than my friend because they come from dysfunctional families. And just think, he'll learn the same behaivour, not know any different and do the same when he's an adult to his kids,
