please help, it's driving me madd
i'm not sure if the media forum is better suited for this but oh well. y'all can move it if the need be.
a while ago i saw a movie on Bravo about a musician that was insane and was comitted but one day he played the piano @ the assylum and the old lady took responcibility for him and let him live at her house. soon there after she sent him to live in an apartment that had an old studio piano so he played ALOT until the manager locked the cover but he picked the lock. later on he started living above a resturaunt and one day he sat down at the piano in the resturaunt and people were taunting him because they didnt think he could play, then he broke out with flight of the bumblebee and the resturaunt hired him. there's more to the movie but i cant remember it right now.
does anybody know the name of this movie????
Thanks in advance, MM

Sounds like a rip-off of "Caveman's Valentine" starring Sam L. Jackson

... as I said earlier Caveman's Valentine, Sam had dreads, poor, and lived in a cave in the middle of central park he constantly suffered from his madness that a man at the top of this sky scraper was conspiring against him

Shine - never seen it though.
The best film with people who have mental problems without a doubt is One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest.

Re: please help, it's driving me madd
Girl Interupted was a pretty good movie in that it was a realistic portrait of how one can be made looney...
i was committed once for 60 days in college because my mother visited unannounced and i was merely trippin' on shrooms.
near the end of that stint, i started to believe i DID have a mental illness...
sure, i won't deny that i'm an egomaniacal, sociopath with a borderline dissociative, personality disorder, but what the fuck, i was born to be a prick.
it's not like i have multiple personalities.
yes you do.
no i don't.

Re: please help, it's driving me madd
how can you compare girl interrupted w/ a classic like kesey's one flew over the cuckoos nest? BTW I don't believe you really got commited for 2 months... don't you think it would've been wiser to tell your mum/doctors the truth?

The Australian film Shine - starring Geoffrey Rush as the musician David Helfgott. Good stuff - and bearing absolutely no similarity to the shitty Cavemman's Valentine - apart from the piano.
One Flew.. is terrific - but has anyone seen a film called...... I think it was - Chattahoochie - starring Gary Oldman - that was fantastic too.

you only consider OFOTCN a classic because it's been around since the early sixties. give Girl Interrupted time -- it's a mere babe chronologically speaking. as for not believing me, you can simply go fuck yourself. they didn't put me away because i was trippin' one saturday afternoon... i was locked up because i was a hallucinogenic drug user; which is considered to be a symptom of some larger, often psychiatric problem.

Fucking idiots, doesn't it occour to anyone that most people use drugs just for kicks (trips) and not because they have problems. They try to convince you that you are nuts so they can keep charging you (IMHO).

Re: please help, it's driving me madd
whatever vicodin. i know why i like kesey, you don't... so don't pretend like you do know. Im a hallucinogenic drug user and i know many people who are too, but i've never heard of one that had so severe problems to be locked up. But arguing is dumb, i'll believe you if you say it's true.
