Is the american goverment worthy of a revolution?
Recently some one mentioned the american goverment is full of assholes. I whole heartly agree. I agree so much that I think its long since due that america needs to be taken over by americans and we no longer need the politicians on capitial hill.
Voting does not seem to work anymore because we get canidates who are lying pieces of crap and no longer represent us.
When we the people retake our country, I declare that we rewrite the goverment and consitution in a way to prevent the mistakes our country made and to prevent past abuses our goverment and corperations has pushed on us from happening again.
So the issue is when we take back our land and freedom, what would you propose for the rewrite?

Not yet- but the time is soon. It won't be long before the US government pisses off people enough they revolt.

Re: Is the american goverment worthy of a revolution?
Here are just a few ideas.
Supreme court justices would be voted in by the public, and would serve a single 18 year term. There would be an election every 2 years so the justices would be rotated frequently.
Besides Congress and the House of Representatives, there should be a third office. The Office Of The Public would have members drafted from the public at large. Service of the Office Of The Public would supercede all other matters, and people serving in the office would be immune to any action taken against them due to interupted obligations. Such as a person could not be fired from his job, but would not receive pay from that job while serving.
All children in the school system shall take regular aptitude tests and be encouraged, but not forced into, an education and career that complements their natural abilities. People with politica ambitions will be required to take extensive history, economic, and ethics classes.

Re: Is the american goverment worthy of a revolution?
Fixing what's wrong with America would take more than a coup and a rewrite of the Constitution. You'd have to change the very nature of man.
I like some of your ideas, Prometheus, but I don't quite understand a couple of things:
If justices serve 18-year terms, why is there an election every two years? Are they dying off that quickly?
People hate jury duty. They find it annoying to go sit for a week and then make a yes or no decision, despite the fact that they're paid for it. How do you expect people to run the government for free?
Aptitude tests are not very accurate, and if anything I'd want fewer of them. Having a government curriculum is good in theory, but it will surely be tainted by the doctrine of those in charge, leading to nothing but better educated sheep.

there are 9 justices, one would be elected every 2 years. i agree with you completely about the aptitude tests. i think the first thing you have to do to fix this country is take away corporate personhood, when you do this it'll be a hell of a lot better of a place.

Re: Is the american goverment worthy of a revolution?
America wont have a revolution for a long time, people are slowy accepting what is happening, then they believe all the misinformation that the govrnment crams into kindergardener's heads. People dont want to see the light, they want to sit in thier 3 bedroom 2 bath houses, go to work everyday and have no meaning, the American Way.

Re: Is the american goverment worthy of a revolution?
Politicians lie to get elected now, what makes you think it will be any different? You'd end up with worse people being justices than what you have now. Shit might change for a few years but then it would go right back to how it is.

Re: Is the american goverment worthy of a revolution?
Here is a idea. For people who want to run for office, I suggest the person should have once worked once for a living in their lifetime as a requirment before going into office.
George W. Bush had a free ride all through his life and look how he is screwing shit up. Not a very intellingent dude.
Locally in my city, a mayor called finkbinier was the same way. His dad was rich and always got what he wanted and never had to work a day in his life. When he got into office, he tried censoring the media (he almiost sucedded), he threw his temper and alot of objects towards other people (he was never convicted because he was mayor.), passed a law that was already in the books and tried improve downtown by making porcerlain frogs on the street corners instead of cleaning up the crime rate and putting additional parking downtown.
So if two spoiled brats like this get into office, then I conclude all spoiled brats are like this when they get into office. That is why I suggest a person should have worked for a living as a requirment before running for office, because they tend to be more mature and have common sense.
Another thing I would change is to have fbi and other law enforcement angencies not under the power of the president and other politcians. Why? So the fbi will do their job instead of being selective when it comes to arresting law-breaking politicians and prevent the fbi from becoming a tool for politics.

Re: Is the american goverment worthy of a revolution?
I am seroius about taking over but I want to do it in a peaceful way. I have some ideas on how to it. One is to form a political party that would aggressivly take over the houses. Any other ideas?

The FBI would still be influenced because the politicians would just bribe them or something. The work thing would be easy to get around. Everyone THINKS they work for a living. There would be so many underhanded ways to get around that, that it wouldn't be worth the trouble. Jr could work for his dad or one of his dad's friends and still not be any better for it.

Re: Is the american goverment worthy of a revolution?
Another thing would be to have law enforcements have a decent wage. Mabye make the job a tax exempt thing or something.
And thanks for showing the holes in my ideas. I have to think of something better.
