Re: DOWNLOADING PROBLEM
try opening windows explorer and right clicking a file of that type, now choose "open with", this time choose the correct program and say always open this sorta file with this program

Re: DOWNLOADING PROBLEM
That won't work. He already associated the file type. It won't ask you a second time.
Instead..open any folder. Click on View in the toolbar. Click on the File Types tab. Scroll down to the file type you want to change (probably MPEG Video). Click Edit. Don't worry about the icon unless you really want to change it. Click Edit. Click Browse. Find the player. Double click on it. Click Ok/Close until everything is closed.
If you're still having problems post the extension of the file you want to change.

Re: DOWNLOADING PROBLEM
Gou, scorched's way would work as well. He wasn't saying open the file and when it asks what program to use to pick the program. He was saying pick the program manually. In newer (I don't know about 98, but I know ME and XP have this) you can right click and click open with to choose which program you want. You could have mp3's open in paint if you wanted.

Re: DOWNLOADING PROBLEM
Possibly. But when you right-click an already associated file in win95 it only gives you the option of opening the file. the Open With function is replaced unless the file type has no association. XP might be different, though.

Re: DOWNLOADING PROBLEM
What's wrong with this software that it won't let you re-associate files.
