sorry, thats probably the first time ive started 2 threads in the same day, but i thought these laws were hilarious, and the other thread is just interesting.

Many of those laws are deliberately misinterpreted for the sake of comedy. Their actual meaning is somewhat different.

But since most of those laws aren't enforced, no one gives a fuck.

There is a law in my country, its probably overwrote now but i still chuckle at it to this day, it goes something like.

"A man can kill another man on july the 9th at 12:15 with a small axe"

Its the same basis but not the same word use.

In Salem, MA, horses still have right-of-way. Horses stopped being used for transportation how long ago???

It's illegal to have sliding glass doors in some parts of Marblehead, MA. Yes, I've personally known this one to be enforced.

In some LA district it is illegal to have sex with Satin without a condom

ya blue laws are funny, heres two, dont know where either originated.

1. Its illegal to put an ice cream cone in your pocket.

2. (not sure bout this 1 but i heard it from alot of people) Its illegal to have ice cream on sundays. This law is the reason for the Sundae (spelling?), its not an ice cream...its a sundae!

A black mans vote is worth just as much as a white mans vote. There used to be a law that made slave owners get 1/3 of a vote extra for every slave he owned. You're probably thinking of that.

Technically there's a law in San Francisco that bans sodomy.

Theres a law in the UK, left over from when England was at war with Scotland...

An Englishman in the city of York (i think) may shoot any Scotsman found in the city after dusk, but only with a short bow.

This law still stands, it has never been revoked.

(I may have got it wrong, I read it somewhere a couple of months ago, and i can't remember the exact details, but its roughly right(could be welsh people or something!))
