Default Have you ever felt the ground drop out from under you......

And for an instant, you feel like you're flying... Until you realize it's just the balcony collapsing?

You'd know how my life has been for the last month. I know what's ahead, as it's what's behind. Nothing good.

Joy is pain as pain exists for the sake of joy.

If you're feeling the floor collasps and its not one of our many Earthquakes and you're feeling of flight afterwards you need to share your drugs with the rest of us.

Well many years ago I was at a friend's house. They had a kidney shape pool with a hot tub at one end, raised up a step.

It was night, the house lights and the pool light was on - I couldnt see too well ahead of me. I was on the level with the hot tub, heading back towards the house.

I didn't see the step, leading from the hot tub level to the rest of the pool area level. So I tripped just like you would any other time you step off a step you don't know is there.

Not being too familiar with the surroundings [I hadn't been at this friend's house too often], and not wanting to look any more foolish by tripping again, I felt, with my foot, ahead to see if there was another step. There was, so I confidently walked off of it...

And right into the pool; the 'step' I felt was the pool's edge.
I didn't know what had happened until my head was under water. let me tell you, it is one hell of an odd feeling when you expect solidness under foot and not getting it.

My friend's mom watched the whole thing; and couldn't believe what she saw.

She said it looked like I thought I could walk on water, the way I just strode off the edge.

It's like going up stairs at night. You can't see ahead of you so you just lift your leg up expecting another step but all you get is the floor. And you stumble trying not to fall over.

I think I know how you feel Z3m. It's like you're ignorant of what is really going on so all you can feel is the good stuff. The flying because there is nothing to hold you up. But then you realize that your support is gone and instead of flying you're falling.

Even if we were to get it, it's more fun to act oblivious to it's meaning, to further push you into dispair.

the balcony would have to have another force placed upon it in order for it to fall from under you AND truly get a feeling of flight. if it were to just crumble beneath you then you would feel the pieces beneath you as your fall continued.

this said, not only would one need some person or thing to place this disillusion of anti-gravitational force and euphoria upon the aforementioned individual but extraparallelly thrust them into this downfall. then upon realizing this unfortunate misinterpretation a state of theological downfall fallows; always unforgiving but ever proceeding through the elements as if ones feet were firmly planted on the ground that can now only be sought after in a continuing decline into the epitome of ones own ignorance.

The best way for one to understand a point is for that point to be explained in less than cryptic statements.

No so.

When you're standing on the ground you feel it under your feet because while your feet are pushing down on the ground, the ground is, in effect, pushing up against your feet [one of Newton's laws of gravity, the 'every action...opposite reaction' one].

On a balcony your feet push down on it, which pushes down on whatever...all the way to whatever is touching the ground.

Without the link to the ground, there is nothin pushing back up. So you would feel like you're falling.

It can also be said that the pieces would be falling at the same rate as you so you wouldn't feel them.

As for true feeling of flight, well I would think [hope] that the feeling of flight wasn't like being in free-fall .

this is true however, if the balcony were to fall, it would not do so evenly. so hence the pieces that fall after graqvity takes it's tole on the individual would in fact be felt, and furthermore noticed by that individual. also, if it were to all fall from beneath at once the pressure would still retain it's effect on the feet which could only be related to flight if the balcony as a whole was flying also.
-these are the basis of my forestated reasoning.

Ok, so you would feel it a bit. But it would be nothing like standing on firm foundations.

What you say may look good on paper [or monitor], but it doesn't work like that in reality.

If you ever had something you were standing on give way from under you, you would know this.

I know this.
