Default Anyone want to write and code a new AOL instant messenger?

I was looking around for programs to edit programs and found a couple good ones.

It would be like a private messenger.

Even with hacked servers would be nice.

Leave a post if it seems that youd be interested.

i dont know VB or c+ but from my understanding one wouldnt need to since those stupid fuckers at AOL left a huge gapping security breach in AIM.

You seem confused because the text in your thread title doesn't tally with the text you typed in your post.

Programs to edit programs, may be you should try debug (works in DOS) but my guess is it won't tell you much.

However AIM is truly shit and all instant messengers for windows at least should be instantly eliminated and replaced by Trillian which does every thing better faster and in less memory.

VB is hard as fuck to understand.

I basically want to modify AIM. No ads for good without hacks and make the color setup different.

Trillian good yes, The problem with it is trying to get the sheep to convert. If its not popular enough then why use it?

MSN Messanger is way better then AIM or Yahoo. and its what all the sheep use.

i doubt youll be modifying any programs if you find VB to be hard as fuck! i understand VB very well, and doubt i could even do soemthing like that. just look for a vb source to aim. www.vbcode.com probably has one. then just edit out any physical items you dont want. (add bar for example)

aim is actaully an excelent chat client for windows. i has all the necesary features and runs on a very reliable network. there are really no drawbacks i can see. how many times have you been breached by an aim security hole? my guese is none. it is also widely accepted and easy to use. if your complaining about the resources used by aim then i think its time to upgrade that 486dx to a proc from this decade.

How is vb hard to understand? The language that took me longest to learn was C++ .

Networking is what throws me off I like icq, no one uses it anymore, it used to be all the rage what happened?
