48% in Battle
24% in Accendents (Crashes)
26% in Friendly Fire.

26%??? i think vietnam was only 3%

anyways its a new war and few killed but damn it looks crazy on the pie chart.

Considering in the entire course of this farce of a "war" only about 24 american soldiers have managed to get themselves killed the averages haven't quite settled yet...

also think of the gulf war.... how many casulties were form friendly fire then? i don't know about the special forces abnd stuff, but in the general army, 100%, to only casulties were some british guys in a tank shot by an american anti-tank weapon apparently

Oh the gulf, when we lost more troops to the Americans than the Iraqis. War is strange indeed.

in the gult there were between 12 and 18 by the accounts i have heard. most were in tanks and a few were in apache's. there were very few grunt casualties from friendly.

It was their own damn fault for wandering into a kill box mantis. Also rarely in history has battle accounted for most of the deaths in war, famine, disease, and intemperate weather were the major killers in war before the modern age.

i think i heard the columbian war we had in 89 (that lasted 1 week) the friendly fire ratio was 33%.

I guess when people get excited they tend to shoot first and ask questions later.

Actually its mainly due to the fact that im mobile warfare fire is used as a means of supression not as an aimed phenomenon. One group uses automatic weapons to supress an opposing force then another group takes a superior position to the opposing force and obliterates them.
