A lot of English people are lazy, scum. And a lot smell really, really bad. But I think that England is kinda divided: You've got those crappy council house communitys, which are a breeding ground for all things crappy. (Its kinda like having miles and miles of trailerpark). Then you've got everybody else whos just kinda normal really. P.s I hate the queen.

England
Why do all the fucking Americans think we talk like the queen? I havn't heard one person address themselves as "one". "One would like a cup of tea"??? Most people would say "I want a cup of tea" (or someone from a crappy part of england: "Gimme da fucking tea now, bitch".
prost8: "Brittish people are all unhealthy, lazy scum....no offence". (you spell British with one "T")
Which is the country with the highest proportion of fat people in the world huh? (America, one in two people are medically obese). So it looks like you're the unhlealthy people.
It's no wonder the whole world hates the Americans. I was in France and they were burning an American flag just for the fun of it.
The war on terrror's going well too. America decides to attack the weakest country it can. There's been terrorism in Ireland for years but the Americans have done nothing about it. A few people die and the Americans use all their force to try to beat them and even then they can't catch Osama Bin Laden (educated in England). Ha ha ha
Now I know a lot of Americans are ncie people but you seem to think that you rule the world (which in unfortunate, because you basicaly do).

Re: If you're from England....
Jealous?
That must be third time in a week that I've heard an American say that. America assumes the rest of the world is jealous of them.
What's there to be jealous of?
Our countries say they believe in "Freedom". Yet, every Western is subject to government propaganda. Have you seen CNN lately, Its just awash with red white and blue, panning on about how great America is. The president go's on parades to gain votes. He rallies America's politicians and televises the entire event about his "WAR AGAINST TERRORISM".
!Fuck!
War? What war? All I saw was a load of planes dropping bombs into the hills. These outlawed terrorists arent exactly using exactly using the most high tech anti aircraft weapons are they? Any government would NOT give being the main power in the world. But monopolizing it? Don't get me wrong, Most Americans I've met are great people, but I think that you should try and see it from everybody elses point of view (most people here should too). Osama bin Laden has a reason to hate America, but there are better ways to perform the proverbial surgery on Americas deformed and plastic body then with violence.
P.S. We have reason to believe that the queen mother died several years ago and that her public appearances are nothing but the work of helicopters and highly advanced puppeteers.

Most English people do have a higher vocabulary then americans. For example. Shackespear (I know he's dead and hes more than a hundered yrs old) had a vocab of 25,000 words most modern day americans have one of 11,000.

Re: If you're from England....
I'm not trying to put any of you Americans down but when you think about it you are a load of self centered ignorant fools. can anybody remember that thing where all the world's countries were going to reduce world pollution? Every country agreed apart from the Americans! The country that makes the most fucking polution in the world!
Also have any of you heard of Fusion? It's where you bond two atoms to form helium giving of great heat without any form of pollution. The americans decided not to invest money with the other countrys that were taking part on perfecting the science. The Americans spend billions on weapons every year but couldn't be bothered to spend on revolutionary power systems that would help the planet. It's only when the rest of the world are going to build one in 3 years time that the Americans sign up.
I've never heard anyone from another country stick up for the Americans. I wonder why that is?

Re: If you're from England....
OK, the US does indeed do some things worthy of criticism in it's own interests--just like any other country, but why is it that people always want to focus on the bad things rather than the good? Of course I'm an American, so I'm slightly biased, but it seems that the US does quite a bit of good for lots of people around the world. Think about how many times when people were being oppressed or slaughtered (Bosnia, Somalia, etc.) the US led a force in to help. Also bear in mind that if it wasn't for the US, a good portion of Europe would probably be speaking German right now. We send out far too much (billions of $) foreign aid every year to other countries. Overall, I would argue that if America wasn't around to maintain peace and stability in the world (because clearly no other country--since the collapse of the USSR--has the power to do so) it would be a far worse place than it is.

Re: If you're from England....
Bob_Smith, thats part of the problem. Your talking about what a great job America is doing helping "persecuted" people, when in general most people just see America sticking its nose into other peoples business. Usually at the whim of a president whos only doing it to take pressure off himself at home. To look at the examples you gave; the balkans and Somalia. Outside of the few Moslem areas of the balkans, like Albania and Bosnia, Americas name is lower than shit. It involved itself in (several) civil wars that where none of its business and had been going back on forth intermitently for hundreds of years. Yanks killed 1,000s of Chrisitian Slavs to protect a handful of Muslims descended from the Turks. And look how the Muslims repaid you.
As for Somalia. Do even you believe anything positive came out of that debacle?

Why do you hate us British? Kumbubba
I love the way people generalize a race,
"all blacks are good at sports but dumb as fuck, white's have no rhythm, Jews are greedy scum, Indians smell, chineese all know kung fu, Italians all know the mob, Americans are all fat and lazy fastfood junkies, English all play cricket and drink tea, The irish are all backwards, everyone on totse is a social outcast." So does that mean all the americans on here hate fastfood, all the english on here hate cricket, kumbubba doesnt smell? that dont sound right.
thats enough waffle from me, but anyone know what a gurkha is?

Re: If you're from England....
Jamopy, I agree with your take on American intervention policy. If I were in charge, we wouldn't get involved in something unless it directly pertained to us (such as the war on terrorism). What's it to us if a bunch of pissants in some third world country half way around the world want to kill each other because they don't like the way the other guy looks or prays? We waste American lives and American taxpayers' money going in to help these ingrates and all they do is trash us. Let 'em kill one another I say. But the point is, is it not noble to attempt to defend someone who lacks the resources to defend him/herself? That's what America does even though we get nothing out of it, for whatever the reason. And America is called evil because of this? If America was evil, a good portion of the world would be dominated by her. I bet that if we somehow got down and out, no one would jump to our defense, instead, everyone would be lining up to take us over. Now think about this, we have the power to do that to other countries now if we so desired...
BSK, the point is that if the US hadn't intervened in WWII, there is a good possiblity Europe would currently be living under a Nazi regime; especially France, because Hitler already had it conquered until we 'stuck our noses in.' What kills me is after saving their butts big time, the French are notorious for belittling Americans--but that's another story. No one forces the American culture on others, they choose it for themselves. So the question becomes, if we are so bad, why do so many people around the world want to emulate us?

BSK, I'm 19.
joho, I didn't say the US won the war, I said Europe would have lost if the US hadn't intervened; and I believe this is a pretty realistic statement. And if worst came to worst, keep in mind that the US was the sole possessor of the atom bomb, so it could have held off Germany simply by reducing the country to rubble. Heisenberg, who led the german atom bomb project, was years behind the American team, so it is doubtful Germany would have had the bomb in time. Germany probably could not have taken over the US...

I never said that you said the US won the war.But you always here how if the US had not joined in then germany would have won.which is probably true but they joined in because they had to if they had not then the rest would have lost they would have been alone. They would not have been able to nuke germany because they had not invented the bomb yet and they would probebly have been over run by germany before they could. The point is it was nesasary not some good deed that can be used at every turn to sound better than everyone else.

okay, yeah... uh, how about this. pretty much all R&D on energy sources are to find a more proficient means of producing energy right? right. so then we can assume that in the long run, all R&D on energy sources is to find a means of "free-energy", if you will. the ability to put some energy into the source and getting that amount out, plus a given surplus. to achieve this would pretty much end every energy crisis (pertaing to the energy output of the self-powering device). now with this in mind, did you know that american researchers have found a meathod of producing "free-energy"? i bet you didnt. i'll also bet that you never even thought that maybe america had suitable reasons for not investing OUR money. i emphisize our money because it is just that, and even with the tremendous amount that we a owe, we still aid 3rd world countries and spend money on OUR military to help maintain these places and to keep other places from becoming like them. --- i also read some where on this post that america should mind it's business and keep out of affairs that dont directly effect us. well, did you ever think about the long run? like some one put earlier, if america had kept out of WWII, we would have been pulled into it anyway. this is exactly why we "poke our nose" in other countries' business. let's say that some eastern country does have a civil war. now let's say that it ends on it's own, however, some radical aryan guy is now in comand of this country. some may say "it's just some small unimportant country. it cant do anything" okay, now that little country takes another little country and so on. now that small powerless country has nuclear capabilities. now they are a significant threat to the U.S. this idea of isolationism is total crap. there is no way that a country can isolate itself from foriegn affairs because if it does, those foreign affairs are knocking at the door. hell, they may not bother knocking and just break the door down. a real good example of isolationism is midevil europe. hmmm... now lets see... county 1-"our country is bigger than yours, i think we will take it over." country 2-"well we are bigger than you and the country you just took over, i think we will take you over!"... country 2-"oh no, there is a political uproar in our country! all the countries that we took over are rebeling. wait! we can ask this country over here for some help. oh no, they wont help us. they also belive in isolationism." -werent those great times? i think not! well to wrap this up; just keep in mind that america isnt sticking it's nose in other countries' business, it is our business! as long as we are all on the same planet, it will be our business so if you dont like it just go on up to flippin' mercury cause that's just how it is!

^^That's sort of impossible--getting more energy out of a system than you put in it. That would involve violating conservation of energy.

Re: If you're from England....
Actually it is possible to get more energy out that u put in. Take for example nuclear power anmd burning things. The law is that you can't create energy. The energy comes from the heat released by splitting an atom. Fusion works the other way by fusing two hydrogen atoms together and forming helium (chemicals might be wrong). The Americans might have managed to get more power out of their crappy little reactor, i don't doubt that; the Americans still havn't got enough money to build a full size fusion reactor on their own. That's why they joined the consortium. That's what the consortium of countries is doing. They pool their money and research so they can build a reactor together.
As for the Americans saving us in WW2 that's bullshit. Obviously we would have lost without their help but they would have lost as well. If Germany had taken over Britain, America would have been fucked because they'd have had nowhere to land their planes that attacked German posts. Secondly they left it a bit late to help. If they'd helped in the first place I doubt that Germany would have managed to takeover many more countires that Austria and belgium. The Americans only decided to join when it looked like they were next. Even then they were attacked first (pearl harbour).
Now i'm getting bored with being sensible so i'm gonna take my standard few lines to insult the Americas. You have a stupid president. I've seen cleverer toilet brushes than him.

Re: If you're from England....
The greatest American might In world war two was industrial; the US's industrial capacity was greater than that of the entire axises. Also it wasn't till d-day that the US feilded as many troops as the Brittish; Including Brittish dominions.
As for the talk of without Brittan and the like World war 2 could only have existed as it existed the political decisions that led to the various facets of the war didn't happen in a vaccume.
By the way at least the children of our head of state are just getting drunk, as opposed to high prince willy of England.

Re: If you're from England....
I'm from America. I hate Bush and the new imperialism I see on tv. Unfortunately its alot like the Rule Brittania thing you British used to have. Probably the best thing to happen to Britain is losing the Empire. Then you all became really cool and came up with the Beatles. I think you should let Prince Charles stage a coup like the old kings used to do and stick the Queen in the tower for good. And i think its great Prince Harry smokes pot. I hope your whole country legalizes it, just to fuck over America's visious drug war. But all kidding aside, I think the British are great except for what they did to the Scots and Irish (my ancestors). If you wonder why America is so fucked up its becuase we are populated with the people you threw out of your country. America is our revenge for sticking us over here in the first place. BTW my people were for Bonny Prince Charley Not that anyone gives a shit now.

Re: If you're from England....
The empire thing kinda backfired on us. Once we left all the countires all the people from those places came to live here. That's why England has such a high percentage of ethnic people. Not saying that there's anything wrong with that but some of the black people I know are dick heads who seem to not know what "wrong" is (not all black people are bad i know loads of really cool black people.
As for Prince Harry knowone cares about him. i was watching Newsround (a really crappy childish TV news program) and all these little kids were phoning in and saying stuff like: "I can't believe he's ben smoking drugs. It's so stupid of him; doesn't he know they're drugs?" and I just thought U stupid little fucks. In a few more years you'll be smoking it.
Cannabis: legalise it Mental health: support it or i'll kill u.

I think some of you need to read a history book and realise that it was a joint effort by the russians, the americans and the british (+commonwealth countries) that defeated the Axis powers. No single country won the war or could have without the other.
Although i will say that the russians won the european war while the americans won the war in the pacific, the British won the desert wars.

Re: If you're from England....
I feel sorry for the royals. They are complete anachronisms. There is no room for the concept of divine rulership of kings in the 21st century. They one and all should step down after issuing a sincere apology for subjecting the British for centuries of oppression. Or you could rise up and guillotine them like the French did. Why did you fight so hard against Napoleon anyway? He was not a Hitler. I hear he put together some pretty good laws and stuff. Maybe if Europe had stayed french, we'd have been spared the horrors of WW1 & 2. Alos now that scotland has its own parliment, when is Wales going to break away? And why do you put up with all that crap in Northern Ireland? Its your country's vietnam. Give Ireland back to the Irish! I know I know its religious or so its said. But how many of are you are still killing each other over religion in the mother country? Get with the 21st century and kill each other over oil like we do in America! Its what makes this country great. (Note: this is satire.)

Re: If you're from England....
It's not that simple. The politicians say that Ireland is devided over religions, which it is kinda. The thing is that there's Protestants and there's Roman Catholics. One wants to stay part or Britain cause if Ireland is united then they're a minority. in it. I think however that Ireland is just devided cause they like bombs and any excuse to blow shit up. There's not gonna be any more killing now that America raised it's big fat hand and said "Stop". Which is a bit of a bummer cause now when you blow up buildings they don't look for the IRA. They look for u Chris

Re: If you're from England....
I had to register just to post some facts:
After WWII ended, seized nazi documents indicated that when the invasion of Britain was successful (and it very nearly was) Britain would be used as a platform for the germans to invade America, aided by the Japanese in the west and the Mexicans in the south. The atom bomb had not been developed at this stage (development having been moved from Britain to the US along with the scientists for fear of falling into german hands).
Ireland: Ireland already belongs to the Irish and has done for almost 100 years. NORTHERN Ireland belongs to Britain and the majority of inhabitants who live there wish it to remain so. The british troops who patrol there do so in an attempt to keep peace between the 2 religious sides. If britain were to 'give' Northern Ireland to Ireland and withdraw the troops, civil war would erupt. Ireland does not possess the resources for any kind of war and the financial burden alone would cripple the country. The good friday agreement is working towards a solution. Most people in Britain couldn't care less what happens there.
Known IRA terrorists have been detained in Cuba, after having trained Colombian terrorists in their techniques. (This will be the same Colombian terrorists that have killed FBI agents fighting the drug trade). Gerry Adams (leader of the IRA's political wing) insists that they are not IRA terrorists, yet strangely still campaigns for their freedom.

Re: If you're from England....
I guess my answer about the Irish question would be to reguard the country as it exists in its geological state...i.e Its an Island. How can a part of it belong to the island next door. Wouldn't it be simpler if the British pulled out and told the people there "Look we're geeting off this island. You can come with us and live on our island over here, or you can stay and deal with it on your own." okay its simple minded but I'm from America.

Re: If you're from England....
Of course it would be easier to pull British troops out of N.Ireland, but when the civil war is in full swing the world will be criticizing Britain for standing idly by while the Irish are slaughtering one another. Damned if you do, Damned if you dont. Alan, how would an invasion across the Atlantic not be possible? With the bulk of the American fleet busy in the pacific fighting Japan, any push by the U-boat led German navy (either direct from Ireland or via a base in Greenland), would be in Newfoundland very quickly. If this was co-ordinated with a simultaneous attack by Mexico, America would have to perform a near miracle to fight off an attack by 3 countries at once.

A Landing fleet of that size would be an utter failure without air superiority. The German armed forces did not place a priority on long ranged air power or carriers so it would have been an unprotected fleet It would have been doomed as soon as it left harbor.

Re: If you're from England....
What I'm saying is that the US would be severely hampered by their committments in the pacific. With a reduced air/navel force to confront, the German navy would head straight for a 'soft' landing spot (such as newfoundland). Would the US be able to destroy the ENTIRE german navy before it reached Canada?
Even if Germany was unsuccessful, the diversionary tactic alone would allow Japan or Mexico to gain significant ground. Thank god it never happened.

Re: If you're from England....
Only 1/4th of American war production went to the successful prosecution of the pacific war. The other 3/4s were used in the European and a fair amount of that was lendlease. It should also be noted that by then end of world war two the US possessed 134 aircraft cariers. though the vast majority of the full carriers of which there were 31 were used in the pacific thearter there were still enough escort carriers in the atlantic to ensure american air superiority throughout the duration of the crossing, especialy considering that they did not need to be escorting anything.
It would however also be impossible for America to have invaded normandy Without brittan so the only way in which world war two would have been won by allied forces without Brittain would leave The USSR with control of the middle east and prehaps all of Europe.

Towards the end of WWII american military production was at a peak. Any German attempt at invasion that COULD have been successful would HAVE to have been early in the war.
This is the period when Germany nearly defeated Britain, so the longer Britain held off Germany, the longer the US had time to increase military production.

But the fact is that It would have taken Germany till 43-44 to conquer england. By 1943 the Us possessed 60 escort carriers, most of which patroled the air gap in the Atlantic. The Germans by contrast did not have much of an industrial machine. There strength was the speed of their tactics.

I know this is a late reply but I couldnt resist. If your from the England....you should know about the NA48 Experiment. All im sayin is this could have been a positive post by half the people here. It boils down to it takes a lot of people to achive goals like this.Obviously we have a group knowledgeable individuals on this site. All who have the ability to make a diffrence in their sociological structures. If you dont get what im sayin heres a definition .Groups of two or more people and their interactions, including how they act and react, organize themselves, construct ideas, explain the world, communicate with each other, form groups and build institutions, protect themselves, produce, distribute, and consume things, work, play, conform, resist, learn, love, live, and die.I guess you have to ask yourself if you have the ability to do this.Lead, follow or get out of the way. All in all my point is this. This site supposed to be a place where we as a group can change things.Im sure you have all wandered here looking for answers to questions that people dont want you to ask. Realized there was a forum and lost your vision in the flames.

Re: If you're from England....
No offence ants, but I haven't a clue what you are talking about. Are you suggesting Alan and I are flaming each other? certainly don't think so, seems to be quite a sensible conversation from where I'm standing.
The closest Britain came to losing WWII was during the Battle of Britain (4 months of aerial combat over southern england and the english channel during 1940). Most scholars in Britain agree that HAD Germany won, they would have secured a landing in the south. Their 'blitzkrieg' tactics had served them well throughout the bulk of europe, there is nothing to suggest they wouldn't have enjoyed similar success in Britain. If Germany wished to launch a rapid push towards N.America, they could use Ireland as a base (despite claims of neutrality, Ireland would have gladly helped Germany) thus remaining immune to attacks from British resistance. Don't underestimate the U-boats. before Britain developed sonar effectively (approx '43 I believe) between 41-42 Germany sank a total of 1300 British ships, bringing britain within 6 weeks of losing the war. I believe it was shortly after this that the then current US president banned all Nazi navy manouevers west of Iceland.

Re: If you're from England....
wtf are you talking about? They never had the ressources, the ships, the manpower nor even the superiority to invade the US. This is crap, Ive said it before. Yes, theyve scared a lot of people, and some people still hate them for that, but they havent won the Battle of Britain or ... arrrrrgh. Yes, theyve invented some "warmachines" like the ME262, ME163, DO335 etc. which could have been very useful and battles at Skagerrag were beyond comparison, but it was too late and theyve lost!

The Blitzkreig tactics would not have been as effective in Brittan due to the fact that there were no railway lines to brittan from germany. essentially the kind of a bottle neck caused by the need to use barges followed by the dificulties presented by guerrilla activities based in the highlands would have slowed the nazis down considerably.
